Got a letter from GM yesterday letting me know there was a problem with the gas caps and causing CEL's. I think it indicated it would be warrantied for 10 years, also came with reimbursement form for those who had paid top have it fixed. Now if they would only do this with the rest of the car! LOL!

I received my letter yesterday as well. They did also show 2 pictures of how to properly store the gas cap when fueling.

Is there a way for a used owner to sign up for these notices?

How about getting a code like I have when the guys at the pump don't tighten it all the way? I think that's all I need to tell them. Dealer is very friendly with me too. I get out at EVERY fuel up for several reasons but one is to make sure they tighten the cap enough.

Got my letter today. Do you think that we could get GM to warranty the "whole" car for 10 years?

I have had the ses light come on twice for the gas cap. Unless it gets worse, I'll wait a little while

I hear ya. Trust me. With the Holidays and all, my gas cap is the last thing on my mind. I was just surprised to see the letter show up.
