hi all,

i own a vxr8 2008 LS2 engine manual transmission which is loaded with the modds mentioned in my signature.

last week my engine broke down, i was driving and suddenly a loud knocking sound has occured in the car. when we took the car to the workshop, it seemed the oil pump wasnt functioning well which lead to the break down.

i am planning to go for a stroker kit, but i am not sure for which kit to go for. i need a stroker kit that will give me the best output matching with the modds mentioned in my signature. i have no futher plans for going for a supercharge, turbo or nos upgrades.

i need ur advices and experiences to get my car running better at more power. what recommendations do u give for the stroker kit brand, size etc...

will i need to make any fuel, electric upgrades? will i require a high performance oil pump instead of the factory one?

Contact some of the Vendors here who do stroker kits all the time.
Texas Speed, Livernois, Leading Edge....etc,etc.

Your existing cam will be tamed by the effect of adding more cubes. You'll need to upsize to match new engine characteristics.

I think livernois has overstock on some of there engines so you might want to contact them , they has some good deals.

I planned to go 4 7.0L stroker kit with coated high pressure pistons plus a bigger cam with bigger injectors
To make my order complete and not order again to complete my plan, what will I need more to accomplish this plan? I know for a fact that I need to upgrade my injectors and get a bigger cam for the stroker kit 7.0L

I think a 7.0 Liter on a LS2 is too big personally.... I wouldnt go higher than a 6.6 Liter from what I heard... and done.... (but I am going to lean on the safe side for now on....)

LS7 (7 litre = 427cu/in) uses 4.125 bore x 4" stroke.
Chances are the OP is talking about a 4" stroke forged crank of some description.
He won't end up with 7.0 unless he's getting the stock liners totally removed and the LS2 block Darton sleeved or similar to take a new 4.125" bore size.
If he goes with just a light overbore on the stock LS2 liners & uses a 4" crank then he's looking at a 402/403 or a 408 cu/in when finished.

BTW OP if it's an OEM LS7 7.0 crank you're talking about you already know the front snout is too long in stock form to fit an LS2.
LS7 crank is longer at the front for the dry sump oil pumps.

Whats your new cylinder bore and stroke dimensions?
You do not get a 7 litre engine by just adding a 7 litre crank to a 6 litre.

Yeah the biggest I come up with from available LS2 parts is roughly 413-416ci, using a 4.100" stroke and either the stock bore or .005" over for the Mahle pistons. 7 liters is a long way from 413 cubes.

Not really sure how that related to Crazy Paul's post, but those heads are waaaay too small for a 427, 416, or anything bigger than a 346. Valve size is tiny (based on 3.89" bore), intake flow (and volume) is tiny, and it's a cathedral port head. If you're keeping cathedral ports, check out Patrick G's thread on putting AFR 230 V2s on his stock shortblock with a tiny 231/231 cam. That'd be more in line with what you need.

Sorry for posting the wrong link of the heads , Edelbrock was my plan then I went to Trick Flow heads ...! http://www.trickflow.com/partdetail.asp?part=TFS-3060T001-C02

I recieved my order (stroker kit) but has no cam :(
11:1:1 CR ratio pistons old coated
7.0L Crankshaft + Hbeam connecting rods

On my these Modification (C-Heads & Stroker kit) what Kind and size of cam and injectors will be appropriate ..? Do I want something other than these two ...?

I'm here in this forum coz I do not have enough experience to know what I want so I need a help to bulid a powerful engine with any information that you can advise me . Thnx alot
