Louisiana Road Course open lapping 11-06-10

I will be running my car on a road race track on Nov. 6 2010. It is an open lapping day at The Circuit at Grand Bayou (by White Castle LA.). It is open to anyone and costs $130 if you reserve a spot.

Auto Cross is a lot of fun. You find out what your car can do on the track and then transfer it to your daily driving.

I didn't take any pics, I went alone. It was a lot of fun. I was holding my own with the other cars, but the weight of the car was obvious next to all the Porshes, Miatas, and S2000s.

A little advice to everyone considering this, have an extra set of tires waiting. After a full day, they will be toast!

But it shows what you can do with your car. Good idea with a extra set of rubber. It builds your self confidence of driving.

Any ideas what times you were running? In bone stock form, I ran 1:26s for a few laps. Lap times went down drastically after tires and brakes overheated.

You're right about the tires, though. I chunked every other tread block on the outside edges.

No, I don't, I was not keeping time it was my first time on a road course. I can not wait to go back though! As soon as I can afford another set of tires.
