Race Mesh 4 piece grill kit came and i got the lower valances in no problem but for the life of me i can't get the OEM kidneys out. there's like 5 clips holding the OEM's in but when i try to press them down and pull out it doesn't look like the clips have enough clearance to come out.

Are there screws on the back side?

Damn I wish I had a G8 so I could answer questions more accurately.

Hang on, let me see if I can find the pic. Sorry, can't find the pic. There are like 5 plastic clips holding the grilles in, I think you need to get them from the back side to prevent any damage.

i can reach down and feel one clip...the others can be reached with a flathead...think of it like this...push down on clip from above, pull on top of grill, no room for clip to slide out and clear the housing.

HUH?

I believe the whole front clip comes off fairly simply. That might give you room to at least see what's wrong.

yeah, they're just clips.

well after trying forever i took it to the body shop my tuner suggested...they did everything for free.took an hour and they had to remove the whole bumper.

FROM SERVICE TECH MANUAL

TO REMOVE FRONT GRILLS PLACE FINGERS INSIDE HONEYCOMB MESH AND PULL
yeah right...

Change the thread title to RaceMesh Front Grill Install or some shit like that. here are the pics...got soaking wet cause it started pouring as i was taking them. i blame charlie for demanding pics. either way it opened up the front fascia for my VaraRam and the kidney's are lighter than the OEMs

That looks real good on white. Do the new ones clip in like the old ones(top) and I assume the lowers go right over whats there. Sorry about getting wet! No I am feeling like we need to go out on a date! LOL

a date is def necessary...

the kidney's pop right into the OEMs location...the two lower valance grilles are held with 2 zip ties on diagonal corners, once the front license plate holder comes out some more might have to go on. but the 2 of them only weigh maybe a pound each and sit perfect over the factory honeycomb (with a little twisting and adjusting the mesh to the curvature)
