Until you get another, better, diff, start your burnouts at the edge of the water box.

Can the V6 even do a proper two wheeled burnout?

I hope to hear about more Camaro diff parts coming soon next week from SEMA. There has to be more than one in the works but that is all I have seen also.

No they can't since they don't have a limited slip rear end like in the GT & GXP.

you could buy a used 2.92 out of a gt....like one of us that has did the diff swaps............(hint,hint)......

I mean if it did have LSD, is it strong enough to spin both wheels?

1450??? Wtf

The IsoTorque is designed to provide the best in handling and cornering performance as well as straight line performance. If you are only drag racing you don't need it and can go for cheaper alternatives.

The 2010 Camaro with the V6 M6 has an LSD, so someone with that car should be able to tell you that. And it's a different size rear end than the one in the Camaro V6 auto trans and the G8 auto trans, so it won't fit either car.

i enjoy reading these remarks like are v6 g8's have down syndrome or something

theres enough power to spin the tires. i've done a few burnouts at the track in the burnout box and got both tires spinning and smoking, i've also been on the street and accelerated hard and had the backend kick out. Believe me or not i know what my cars done. This was also on my 285's

Any of you guys running 500 hp or more are gonna destroy that posi unit if you ever run into tire shake. The gears will be dog meat.

Actually, the carrier bearing seems to take the most damage. However, I don't think any of the V6 guys are near 500.

yes, but im talking about the new posi that is going to be available for the camaro dif, which a ton of big power guys including myself have.

You are in the V6 forum though, so you're talking to the wrong crowd. :)
Except to try and sell a diff I guess.

DRCUSTOMPARTS

It'll be faster since you'll have both wheels hooking up instead of just one.

hazer396
11-06-2010, 01:28 PM
is it just a swap? or do i have to do more shit...
what about gear ratios? stay the same?

hazer396
11-20-2010, 02:15 PM
so the GT diff is a direct swap?

I am going to find out if the GT LSD is interchangeable with the V6 LSD. I think it is, but I'm not sure.

If you bought the LSD, you would have to disassemble your diff, put your ring gear on the LSD, and reassemble the diff. It needs to checked so the gear mesh, backspace, etc is right.

You other choice would be to buy a complete G8GT diff or Camaro Diff and swap the entire unit.

GeorgeInNePa

Based on info I have recieved and from looking at parts lists, it seems that the GT LSD is a direct swap for the pegleg V6 open unit.

Also will trade for 15" Racestars and/or drag radials.

Amen, daycare is freaking expensive. I could have bought two CPR6 Manifolds with the daycare money I've spent since we had our Son in april. I would still take the kid over the manifold in a heartbeat, but still I can't help wonder what could have been.

You have to buy 2. It takes 1 plus "some" to fill it.

GMPD always seemed to be really slow for me. Do they still overcharge for shipping? Sorry to hear about your accident hazer, but on the bright side you do get the kick ass GXP bumper. So it all works out.
