Power trunk release sometimes stuck

The relay on my trunk release sounds like it gets stuck some times and makes a bad noise when you press the unlock button. It sounds like the unlock runs for about a second and a half instead of just click. Kinda like a stripped gear would sound on something. I pulled the module out of the trunk and looked to see if I could open it up but it appears to be sealed. I tried to smack it as sometimes that frees a stuck relay ( I dropped it on the ground as well, just in case) but no luck. I had it not actually latch today until i took a screw driver and simulated opening and closing the trunk a couple of times. I'm guessing I just need to replace that part? Anybody got a better idea or run into this before?

Maybe I could just go Ghetto and use a bungee cord?

You have a failing trunk release actuator.

Well I guess of all the things to break that at least is the easiest thing to replace.

I had mine replaced under warranty at about 15k miles. Took them about a week to get the actuator and about 2hours to get the trunk to latch perfectly.
