I currently have 30,400 miles on my 09 g8 - I had the rear main seal and transmission flare repaired. Driver door made a clunk noise when going over bumps-dealer replaced the door striker - overall seems like a solid car.

She's finally needing suspension work (OEM Strut bearings and bushings have finally failed), but other than that, problem free. No LCA problems or gas cap problems. She's never thrown a code/CEL. I did have drivers front brake caliper bracket that was loose, and was replaced under warranty.

Got mine March 09 and currently am sitting at 28,687 miles as I happened to look when I parked in the driveway earlier. Had the driver seat side trim replaced, the recalls (brake switch & TPMS), lca's, and a subsequent visit after the lca's where they either didn't put the buttons in right, or didn't put them in at all, on the front passenger wheel well liner/splashshield. The front wasn't buttoned and wore a 4" x 6" hole into it. Only took them a day to get a new one in and replace it after I discovered the problem.

From March 2009 - About 10,900 miles (which includes a 3,200 mile trip) About 1/2 dozen repairs including: Oil Pan leak, Door strykers, Strut tower bushings and bearings, radio replaced.

I bought mine used with 22K on it and now I have 36K after owning it since Dec 08. Since it was a certified used car I have a 48 month/48K bumper to bumper warranty. The only thing that was replaced were front LCA's and the hood latch cable since it would freeze in the winter. I plan on some new struts/bushings/mounts in the spring because the suspension seems to be getting soft.

That sounds like the 1-2 flare
your car is not the only one that is doing that

I was wondering if that was what it was also. And I tried telling that to the dealership too. Maybe I will have to be more persistent.

Bought her in April of 2008 and it has ~43k. She's my daily driver and has been awesome, but not without her share of minor issues. Thus far, I've had the following replaced:

- Gas cap (twice)
- Front strut bearings/bushings
- Front lower control arms
- Original key FOB (thank goodness it was under warranty and didn't cost me the $150)

Overall, it still rock solid and drives great thanks to Mobil 1 oil changes every 5k and lots of TLC

It's a good thing you don't drive it regularly, you would go broke changing the oil every 2000 miles.

Just rolled over 32,000 on my G8 after purchasing it in May 2009. 32,000 in 18 months. I'm in the process of acquiring a beater, at which point the G8 will be parked for most of the winter and will receive substantially less use generally. I want the thing to last.

That said, the issues have been minor. I need to take it in for the LCA issue, a rattle in the passenger-side front door, and a broken glovebox (the post that the spring mechanism connects to snapped off; quality stuff, really). I also just refreshed the clutch fluid since it was really murky.

Other than that, it's been a great car. I still love it. And oh the plans I have for it...

Sorry, let me clear it up. MY car is the Magnum with 65000 miles and 7/70 till Oct if i can drag the mileage out that long. The G8 I got for him for Father's Day in 09 and it has 5859 miles. I don't call the G8 mine (except on paper) but he says ours. I may have to park "mine" and drive the G8 to keep the mileage down so my warranty will last closer to Oct. and put a few miles on the G8 to see if we have any issues.

March 15, 2008...right after you Ray. I have about 29k miles.

Mine was the first "memory steer", i.e., collapsed strut car in the midwest. So, dealer has replaced the steering box (early guessing), struts/bearings, LCAs, rear main seal, and a few other items. Luckily, I live about 2 miles from the dealer and they always give me a loaner....:)

Still the best car I have ever owned, although my 84 HO Z28 was a close second.

Yep, I have around a 70 mile round trip to work daily. We generally take mine whenever we take a trip anywhere also.

Traded 2009 GT for 2009 GXP that had 8,963 miles in June 2010 and now GXP has 16,410. Dealer recharged A/C so I could have cold air in summer. They installed GM Extended Remote that does NOT provide extended range like it's supposed to. He said that GM technical guys said it will not work on a GXP and he refunded my cost. This car is one of the most funnest cars I have ever driven, absolutely awesome !!!

2008 with 86,000 miles. Driving about 30,000 per year. Went and looked at 35-40mpg cars a month ago. Decided to keep the power, best comfortable seat I ever had in a GM car in 30 years. I get 24 mpg on 80% highway miles. Just performed maintenance on brakes, trans flush, new plugs.

73,000 miles had for a year bought with 2800 miles and runs like a champ. Go Holden, only had the control arms replaced and on second set of Potenzas and lots of 92 octane Obama f_ _ _ing gas. The Land Of Oz car has been GRRRR8. I would buy more of them if I could to have a garage King!!!

Wish I could drive mine more but with having 3 cars and gas still hovering at 4.35 a gallon I try and drive my dependable 165,000 mile 97 Civic.
As for my truck it gets only 9-10 mpg so that's out of the question.
