So the MT ET street 275 40 r17 are for rims that are 9in to 11in. Are you guys sure that these will work on the 8in wide GTO wheels?

Don't go bigger than 26" tall on a 17" wheel

Cool. I thought I should have been more concerned with running such a fat 275 tire on that 8in wide rim. But if it is all good then I'm going to pull the trigger.

I have had good luck with my MT et street radials. I got them to a 1.60 sixty foot in my camaro. I would never use anything else IMO

Take everyones opinion, the M/T Drag radial is an awesome tire and will definitely help you in the traction department.

I went 27.2 and had no issues..... are you saying this due to ratios or fit?

I would think it is for ratio purposes as the stock tire diameter is 26in. A larger tire would have a similar effect to changing gear ratios.
