Hood Repair cost [Archive] - GRRRR8.net

On the way home from work on Friday a price of wood bounced up and hit the front of my G8. It dented the front endge of the hood and chipped a big section of paint off all the way down to the sheet metal. I was just curious if anyone knows what it would cost to get the whole hood repainted? I also think at the same time I am going to get the front fascia repainted. Also, does anyone knwo what it would cost to get a clear bra put on the front fascia after I get it repainted?

It ended up costing $710 to repair and paint/blend the hood. The body shop also re-sprayed the front fascia for me. I had the car back from the body shop less than 24 hours and I backed into my wife's car. Back to the body shop, again. It kills me when my G8 is not looking perfect.

It's a slippery slope, friend. It seems all over the boards that once the first real damage happens, the cars are "cursed". Look at George, wnt2gofst, and others. Might be time to trade it in on a newer one :)

Had the same thing happen to me, had a rock fall out of the dump truck and hit my hood. Cost 550 to repair, paint and blend the hood. However, I just got a GXP front facia (still waiting on the lower lip) and the body shops said they would do the repair and paint the front facia for 720ish.

$710 for a repair is really costly since your car is an expensive one itself. must be heartbreaking to have that accident. I know of a site that you can find the costs of your Pontiac repair (http://www.automd.com/repair/pontiac_m26/) or replacements you might need.

Wow that really sucks. When I had the SC/T hood (Gand Am GT) two toned back in '06 along with the RK Sport front bumper it was $790 but that was fitted/two tone and a little bit bigger hood then the G8.

New ones on the internet go for $550.... non-painted of course.... I saw a couple around... not sure on quality though...
