It was a faulty seat belt tensioner in my car. It took the dealer a while to diagnose it correctly.

I get this occasionally. Its a very strang error, they replaced modules and clips but it still comes back in cold weather.

I need a new airbag control module. Though I am still waiting for it to come in and it was ordered about 3 months ago. I am getting sick of seeing that stupid light.

its a terminal tension problem at the connector under the front seats. I went round and round with one. There should be a bulliten coming about soon for it.

I just started getting random airbag errors on the DIC a couple of weeks ago.

It was the actuator in my car. Light came on one day on the way home. Then, sometimes for the next couple days it would start dinging at me repeatedly like there was a new code every 5 seconds, and sometimes it would just ding once on my entire drive.

Got this today, wondering if this is just a cold weather issue. Anyone able to get this covered outside of the 36k warranty?

Went to a party on Saturday night, and my wife was driving and I was in the passenger seat. The airbag fault was going off the entire time - all the way there, all the way back.

It only happens to me when there is a passenger in the front. When I'm driving alone it never goes off.

It's an official recall now affecting 2008/2009 models. Mine haven't thrown any codes yet.

It's A G8!

This is good news for those of use seeing a problem. Maybe this is a dumb question, but does warranty play a part in this? (Recall is still honored if warranty is expired.)

Recall affects the lifetime of the vehicle regardless of warranty. The car can have 1 owner or several thousands. Car can be 1 day old or 50 years old. As long its registered. The manufacture have to follow thru with the recall campaign. So any dealer who tells you its out of warranty, is full of it. I wonder how many G8 is affected.

I went to the dealer concerning my airbag light fault and what I was told them ONSTAR. The dealer in both Texas and NC told mr that I was going to have to pay them just to run the diagnostic. And seeing that it was out of warranty, it would have to pay additional if any that was wrong needing to be fixed. Does that sound right?

Sounds like you need to talk to the Service Manager, if you haven't, or try a different dealer because they sound like asses. It seems like some people have forgotten the meaning of customer service.

Well, well, well! According to the AP, GM is recalling 38,000 G8s to reprogram the front passenger air bag module. GM dealers will do the reprogram of the sensing and diagnostic module at no charge. Maybe that will cure your problem.

GM just issued a recall on G8's for an airbag issue. I am sure you guys have heard about this but this could be the issue they are fixing

I have yet seen this warning, should I go ahead and take it to the dealer to get it fixed anyway?
