Took my G8 to a cruise in this past Saturday. Had a guy come up and ask if it was my G8 and I told him it was he went on to say he had one but because of the problems, mostly vibration he traded in on another vehicle. When he described the car LR with a roof, tinted glass and a 6.0 badge on the trunk lid I told him I had test drove that car! Now I’m glad I didn’t get that one after all. Of course the dealer told me the car was in perfect shape the owner just wanted a truck instead. And yea he’s telling the truth. When he told me his name I recalled that a mutual friend had mentioned she knew a guy with a red G8. He did go on to say he loved the G8s but the dealer was never able to get the vibration out of the front end if they had he would still have the car today.

small world sometime. Did you feel the vibration when you drove it?

I didn’t notice any vibration but I only drove the car maybe 3 or 4 miles tops and probably didn’t get it over 40 ~ 45 mph since it was city driving only. Had I taken it on the expressway things might have been different. Is this the problem related to the LCA?

Thanks Travis, he did say they sent the driveshaft off to be rebalanced which didn’t help and they must have replaced a tire because they ruined one rim. We only have one local dealer and I don’t think they have the best service techs. So far (knock on wood) I have only had one issue with mine that being with the CD changer. I don’t know if I trust them do repair / replace the unit without doing other damage.

I’ve had the oil changed twice at the same dealer one time I watched as the tech drove my car out with his gloves still on and when I got the car home I found he hadn’t reset the TPMS so rather than take her back I did it myself.

I hope I never have a real mechanical problem as the next closest dealer is over 30 miles away and don’t know if they are any better or not.

Also, there is a noticeable vibration with the AFM. Some cars are worse than others. I test drove my G8 and was like "WTF is wrong with this thing?". Did a bit of reading on the forums and found that it was the AFM system. Disabled it through HPTuners and never looked back. :)
