My review of the reduced tq management tune+3.27 gears

First off DAMN!!!

Got the cables today..so I put my stock ecm back in. I wanted this speedo calibration on this ecm. Put the tunes in and went for a drive.

Going into 2nd it will spin the tires for about 3 seconds and the car tries to come around. Going into 3rd...it's spun the tires a few times..most of the time it just lifts the front end up. Just easing around from a stop..when you let off the gas to let it upshift at say 3000rpms,and you pat the gas as it's shifting it shifts hard. It'll throw your head back. I really like how it feels....very sporty.
As I was taking a on ramp onto a 4 lane...I was behing 2 other cars. As we hit the 4 lane..I jumped out to the furtherest lane..I kicked it. It lit the tires up..as I was just getting past the first car..it shifted..broke loose and I was taking a hard right hand spin. I got my nose into there lane just in front of them. Well I let off and it came back straight...of course I was about 5 inches from the side of them. Stupid me...nailed it again...lit them up again. This time when I eased out of it..it hooked. I then proceded to get the hell out of there. I was right in front of the police station.

All in all,it's worth it....just my $.02

It's the new vector tcm tune.....50% in normal,20% in sportsmode.....don't remember what manual is. I manual shifted 1 time and it spun going into 3rd.

I'm currently at 0, but I'm thinking about having some put back in.

I'm this far >< away from ordering a diff.

It has to wake the GT's up a lot. You probably couldn't keep traction with the converter plus gears.

2195...up from the 1964 with the 2.92's.

here is what each gear tops out at @6200rpms..vs. the 2.92's

1st 37 vs. 42
2nd 64 vs. 72
3rd 98 vs. 110
4th 131 vs. 147
5th 177 vs. 198
6th 226 vs 253

I don't think topping 6th gear is possible???

Eventually, they will have to be available here for warranty replacement, if nothing else.

A little more info..
for those wondering about gas mileage.. I took a 30 mile trip up the interstate to see what happened.
At first I reset the mileage..so for the first 8-10 miles,I ran with cruise on at 80 mph. The afm stayed off at this speed and it averaged 20.6. This is Alabama and there are a few ups and downs...not flat. I slowed down to 77 and the afm would try to come on,but at 75 would stay on alittle more...I believe it went up to 21-22mpg...I forgot to reset. Now going anywhere under 65 the afm would stay on alot....I saw anywhere from 22-28.5mpg.
The low throttle shifts in sportsmode is awesome..shifts fast and hard....well wot is hard too,but it's smooth.
Just remember...when your feeling 'good':cheers: and you leave a party and the car is warm (remote start),but the tires are cold.....DON'T nail it pulling out. I just went about half throttle and it came around about 180 degrees. I got straight and renailed it and it spun all thru 1st and 2nd... I then just took it easy home....too many damn deer around here.

Yea..... a 11.8@121,444whp,full suspension,built srt-4. Just my first rear wheel drive car. Why?? The G8 is my fun car...so 'ball's to the wall'. If it's got a breaking point....I will find it. I've found them in my other cars...

That's what I was after. You seem to get really squirrelly a lot with your new found power. Coming from front wheel drive power to rear wheel drive power explains it. It's a whole different world when the wheels are pushing you instead of pulling you. You have to stay in front of the power. If I were to give you some (unsolicited) advice I would recommend getting on some opened back roads and cutting loose to learn the mannerisms of your car.

Nay..I don't get upset to bad. Your right thou...I still haven't mastered this rear wheel drive thing just yet. I was starting to get the hang of it..till the new gears and tcm tune. Now it's a different animal. I need to back off...tires are not cheap for this. I like the looks of the faken 452's for $199 apiece. I'd really like to put on some falken rt-615's...but they don't make them in my size. In 5 years...I've never rotated any tires...I usually just burn off the drive tires and go get new ones.
There is a very curvy road around here around a canyon that I've ran a few times in the G8. I've got a video of it,that I made in the skittle. Maybe I'll post it,it was just a laid back run. I have hit 80mph on it in the G8....in the skittle I was hitting 100+ a few times...not in the video.
