Looking to paint my coolant overflow and washer fluid caps flat black to match my RF radiator cover. What's the best paint to use for such things? Must stick to plastic and take engine compartment heat.

Is it Rustoleum that has the plastic paint? Not sure. Auto-Zone sells a spray can of an adhesion promotor. You spray the piece with it and then top it off with paint.

THAT'S what I was thinking of!

The question is... Does it come in flat colors?

The adhesion promotor may be your best bet. My sister was painting some walls in her basement that had rubber silicon on them. As many may know you CAN'T paint over it. It just beads up. We used this from autozone and it worked GREAT!

There are a few satin colors, only Black and White have gloss, satin or flat.

+1 on the adhesion promoter. I used it when I painted a overflow bottle and washer fluid bottle. It never chipped or flaked off. Also, bumper paint has a high percentage of plastic in it which you may want.

Walmart and K mart should both have it and maybe Home Depot.

Don't know if you want to try this but it worked for me. You can use regular spray paint without an issue if you put a good couple of coats of spray primer on first. I researched this before doing it and it works great. A lot of the guys who paint their plastic intakes do it that way. Here is my engine cover with regular black wrinkle and a few coats of primer underneath.

OK, so I've got this Krylon Fusion paint for my hard plastic pieces. Looking around I see the boot covering the wire going into the underhood fuse box is gray and would rather be black. Any ideas on painting rubber? the Fusion won't work, its for hard plastic only. Need something flexible.
