So apparently i cant untighten the drain plug without professional help. i was cranking on it to take it off. (over tightened by dealer for sure!) and my hand slipped and i rounded off the drain plug.... Does anyone have ideas on how to get this damn thing off now? Where to get a new plug? Also does anyone have any pictures of where the plug is located i feel like i was wrenching on the wrong thing if its that hard to get off. Thanks!

I have a socket type wrench that pivots. The box end goes around the bolt head, and when you loosen the bolt the handle part has teeth that bites into the bolt head so it doesnt slip.
Buy a new bolt than use a large vice grip if you have it.
Make sure you're lefty loosey.

once you do get it out, you might consider a futomo valve

You might have used the wrong size wrench, the bolt is metric not standard. I don't remember what size it is, but if you do as Ray suggested you'll get er loose.

Where to get a new plug?

Send a PM to Greg and give him your VIN number
http://forum.grrrr8.net/member.php?u=92

New drain plug should be GM#11562588
New seal for plug should be GM#12616850

(Quoting the VIN will make certain)

**If removing the old plug causes thread damage of the female oilpan thread there is a thread insert available to suit the M12x1.75 plug. GM Part Number 11503302.
Note--Part numbers above are all still good & stock is available in Aus.

13mm. I used a 6 point box end wrench and made sure to spin it counterclockwise. Mine, too, was tightened to about 78 Gorilla-feet from whoever did the last change. Also, in the process, I caught Carmax in a dead lie since they said the oil had been changed just before I bought the car, and since I am in love with synthetic, went to drain it after my 240 mile drive home and found a nameless filter because all the screen print had "evaporated". Didn't surprise me.
