How do I get the Side marker/repeaters off?

Im purchasing V-LEDz for almost every light on the car and I was wondering how do I get the side marker and side repeater off to change out the light?

I believe you just push against it gently, and then move it "car-forward" just a little bit and the whole assembly pops out of the fender.

For the bumper cover light.....


Turn your wheel as far as you can to either direction to gain access.

There's 2 plastic pins you need to remove from the wheel well. Then you can bend the wheel well plastic out. I have big arms and they fit inside enough to get to the pinch clamps holding in the markers. Once you get your new ones, you'll easily be able to see how these lock in.

For the fender repeaters (the ones on the fender, between the wheel and door), you just push them toward the front of the car, then rotate the rear of them out. It's so damn easy, you'll start worrying about people stealing them or taking them off to play pranks on you. Then again, they'd have to know this info beforehand, so in other words, beware of other G8 owners pranking you. :)

For the sidemarkers (under headlight), the way SRG posted is the ideal, IMO. The GM service manual states to just pry them out at the top with a plastic trim tool, but in my experience this messed up the paint around the area (even with a plastic tool, which would be much more gentle than a metal screwdriver for example). Turning the wheel and popping open the wheel well liner is a little more work, but once you get in there and squeeze the clip, it comes out easier with no paint damage.

I am getting mine straight from the V-LEDz website. Im not posative on the exact ones to order, but im fairly sure the correct ones are the third from the top.

Well there is 11 different kinds of 194 amber lights. He does list which LEDs go where, but lacks the specifics of which amber 194.

Sorry for the late response guys, but I personally went with these 2W, 4 LED high power bulbs (http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior-LED/CornerSide-Marker-LED/Amber-LED/V-LEDS-AMBER-4-M-SMT-p7114825-1-2.html) for both the sidemarkers and side repeaters. Anything with side firing LEDs in both of these applications would be a waste of light, as the only useful light is coming from the forward firing LEDs, due to the design of the housings.

Actually to go even further, I went with those quad forward firing 2W LEDs for every other 194 bulb in my car (the 2 map lights and license plate lights, for the dome lights I used some PCB LEDs).

I'd go with a bulb that has some side-firing prowess for the repeater since there is a silvered background. So at least some of the light shed to the sides would be useful. For the side markers, though, I entirely agree. It's a plastic housing that hugs the bulb and has no reflective properties at all.

Yes, that would've been ideal, but the way the bulb sits in that housing, it's recessed so that those side-firing LEDs would be blocked by the black plastic of the housing.

Trust me, at night, my entire Klearz sidemarker lights up amber so that you'd think it was a regular bulb. During the daytime, the bright sunliight overtakes it and you only see amber around the center section where the bulb is, but that's to be expected and doesn't look bad at all.

I used the V-Stars from V-LEDs, it's the only place they fit but they work pretty well there. The spring loaded arms makes them a pain to remove if you need to though, but it's doable. They make a pretty cool streaking effect because of the arms... At first I wasn't sure if I liked it but it definitely looks awesome once I got used to the effect.
