My first impression is that I don't really like the front end. Seems kinda 'Mazda-ish'. But the infotainment sounds very cool.

Yeah, agreed. It somehow softens the formerly aggressive face of the VE, makes it look more Mazda. The car looks smaller, which may be good; but before it just had a nice, square beefiness to it. And I really don't like those new projector headlight units. The odd "cup" underneath the projector looks terrible.

You know, I think everything is becoming limp wristed and slack jawed. From appearance to engine size and type. That's not to say I hate people who prefer if, I just don't like it.

It'll take 3 months at least after the car is available to get all the part numbers and prices of all the parts.
Then probably another 3 months to investigate all the compatibility issues of putting 2011 parts into a 2008 car.
You need a lot more than just the infotainment module. [There'll be 4 to 6 different versions of those too]

The SSV is not too bad. I still like it a little boxier like before.
The interior is definitely a plus IMO. Loving the Red & Black. wish mine was like that.

I did, actually. I saw this article on Autoblog before it was linked here. I'm still a bigger fan of our generation of VE, though the new SSV looks pretty darn good.

But hey, of course I'm biased toward the generation of car I paid money for. :)

That makes sense.

The G8 is a good car, but it could've been so much more. Looks like Holden is going that direction with the improvements they're making to the Series II.

I would love to be able to buy one of these some day, when I'm ready for my next car. Hopefully in the future GM will revisit Holden import program.
