There is a friendly company who is prepared to build a new one piece driveshaft for the V6. I am still trying to clear up some points. Especially if it gets rid of the "clunk". More to follow.

Well, I dont know about other places, but there is a local place in Chicago (Surge Friction) that will make a one-piece custom driveshaft for anything. I had one made for my Mustang, they made a 3.5" .125" wall one piece seamless aluminum (they have multiple diameters and aluminum or chromoly material), balanced with U-joints for $349. All I supplied were the yokes and overall length from end of tailhousing to rearend pinion flange with the suspension fully loaded. Took about 4 hours for them to whip it up and balance it, picked it up and bolted it in. Top quality, no complaints.
