haha let me tell you guys... waiting is the WORST... if i'm lucky my wheels are just about to get on the boat today (bought them at least a month ago or so) and they should get here before christmas..
But in the end well worth it - saving a LOT of money vs going through JHP.
Now the tire indecision continues... lol

Set of 20" GTS wheels = US$2150 (conv. at todays rate) + about US$300 for sea freight (8 weeks ish) from the same place as the others in Melbourne Aust.

I'm confused about the price you say those wheels cost - US $2150
The JHP website says they are $3447 USD
If they truely are $2150 plus shipping, I would have ordered those months ago!!!!

Gotta watch JHP on some of their prices. If you shop around you will find it cheaper.

11-20-2008, 03:14 PM
The low AUD recently has definitely helped. but yeah when I ordered mine JHP still had them for 4550 or something (now they're down about 3500 but still way more expensive).
Which brings me to this: Do you guys think dede can say this with a straight face? (from g8board) :
Looks like an Audi. Not a bad thing, but I don't like side bulges at the bottom.
Seriously, I wouldn't even want to know what JHP would charge for that. Those freakin' guys are ridiculous with their pricing.
What JHP have to do with HSV pricing ? just list price + shipping
He must work for them or something....
Oh and paul - if you get people hooked up be sure that they tell mick they're from here and that I said hi ;) haha

Wheels have been stuck in L.A. customs area since Sunday. Every time I check my email, the shipping company sends me another document to be filled out before they release them. This has been a stressfull deal, especially since patience has never been my thing!!!

Yeah, not sure when you ordered yours but mine were sent air freight instead of sea ship. Probably paid twice as much for shipping than you did.
I went with 245/35/20 on front and 275/30/20 on the rears

Hello everyone, while you're contemplating new wheels for your G8, remember that you will also need TPM Sensors. We specialize in providing original equipment Tire Pressure Monitor Sensors (TPMS) for most automakers worldwide. In addition to supplying the original equipment TPM Sensors for the Pontiac G8, we also have sensors available for many other makes and models.

I love those wheels, they have a nice deep lip. I think they are the Zenetti Five, they look similar to them:
http://superbuytires.com/Zenetti/Five/
***EDIT*** 5/26** According to the Brake Kit web page at Pace Performance, the ONLY OEM G8 wheels that will accept the GXP front brakes are the GXP wheels. The 18" V6 and GT and 19" Sport Package wheels will not fit.
I got my GXP front rotors, calipers and SS lines installed. I think they look better with the wheels.

Set of 20" GTS wheels = US$2150 (conv. at todays rate) + about US$300 for sea freight (8 weeks ish) from the same place as the others in Melbourne Aust.
Just wondering if this ^^is still a good price?

No sorry the exchange rate (AUD-USD) has changed a lot for the worst since 6 months ago. The place in Melbourne,Aus who had them at that price dont seem to be advertising those wheels anymore either.
Have a look in here and you'll find a set. Price is current.

Our mission was to squeeze every possible millimeter of tread under our flagship car, which already has the Pedders Track II suspension installed. The wheels are CCW SP510s and the tires are Michelin Pilot Sport PS2. We used black McGard lug nuts and wheel locks. Final wheel and tire sizing is as follows:
Fronts: P265/35ZR19 on 19 x 9.5" +34 mm.
Rears: P305/30ZR19 on 19 x 11" +54 mm.

Someone was selling these on Ebay. The rims, tires and TPM all mounted and balanced for $1600. I found a company that coats them. You buy the 4 rims and they send them to you. Then you send them back the same rims and you recieve a core charge.

They do look good on the red, one of our guys has them on a silver, but, for some reason the red sets them off more then the silver. Maybe they are so close to the color of his car or maybe because mine is lowered. Beats me, but, as any wheel there are gonna be some that show better on some colors then others. They are a good looking wheel no matter what color you put them on and his looks great also.
JTG8GT
07-20-2009, 07:52 AM
They do POP on red. The lowered look helps but I think the contrast is what makes them stand out on your car. I like the way it blends in on my Silver, gives it a more reserved look. Looks classy either way. Thanks again for blazing the path to awesomeness. lol :woohoo:

No they won't, besides those wheels are discontinued. There's some 20" Rial Porto wheels at Tire Rack that look similiar and will fit the GXP.
http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/WheelCloseUpServlet?target=runWheelSearch&initialPartNumber=PO90045B92BSAT&wheelMake=Rial&wheelModel=Porto&wheelFinish=Bright+Satin+Sil+Paint&showRear=no&autoMake=Pontiac&autoModel=G8+GXP&autoYear=2009&autoModClar=&filterSize=All&filterFinish=All&filterSpecial=false&filterBrand=All&filterNew=All&sort=Brand
They were still available on Tirerack. Wonder why they wouldn't fit the GXPs. One would think that if it was a 20inch rim then it should be able to clear the brembos.

Evidently the distance from the hub mounting surface to the back of the spokes isn't enough to clear the Brembo calipers. It says they will fit the GT but not the GXP. I think the Rial wheels look better, plus they are made in Germany not China.
It is not the diameter and rim clearance that is the problem. it is the width of the caliper and wheel spoke clearance.

I've been researching those wheels for the past hour or so. That website (and some others) say the wheels will fit with the 38mm offset (20x10 wheel), but over on the G8board, people were saying that they will NOT fit without fender rolling. According to some wheel size calculator, they only stick out 0.9 inches more than the stock ones. If that's the case, they should fit, right?

the RPM 505's were actually what i was initially looking at, but i decided to go with the chrome 5 spoke look
i see too many similar ones to the RPM's all over NY
and i don't want my car looking like everyone elses
as for the fit of them, from what the person told me where i got mine, and where i was looking at the rpm's, they should fit perfectly with no problem

Anything less than 50mm offset on a 10" rim and you are going to rub at some point. It just depends on what look you are going for. I like flush fit wheels so I went with a 42mm offset on a 20x10 wheel running 285's and rolled the fenders. Now I have no issues what so ever.

Thanks, man. It's funny that you've got the ST5's, because I actually ordered those wheels in a staggered setup. Then I had to cancel my order with Tire Rack because they weren't able to get the 10" rears in stock. Then when I tried to get 4 of the 20x8.5's, they only had 3 left! Now, somehow they've got 1 or two 10" wheels, but no more 8.5's. I absolutely love those wheels, but I guess it just wasn't meant for me to own those.

It is the DTM Flare. Here you go...not easy to get, I can tell you that much...you can get them but they are pricey to get them to the U.S.

You can also try the following: Axis Wheels has a similar wheel called the EXE Flair but you have to research the offsets carefully and call the Mfr on any of these wheels to make certain they will work properly.

What you don't know is that google just in the past few days has changed to some regional type setting.
I can't see world or even USA based google results anymore.
Whatever I type in the search it automatically defaults to Oz only results.
I gave you the link so that you could see from your end (because I can't) if there were any USA suppliers.
I also gave you the model name of the particular wheel = Flair.

I know they aren't 19's or 20's, it was an issue of practicality for me so I could keep my spare. I still dig them though...

Those wheels look great on your car. I like them!
66cat389 your wheels look nice too. You can use an 18" spare with any size wheels since the tire diameter is the same.

How much for a gallon of the Perth Purple? And is it metallic too? You think I could have this sprayed over my Maverick Silver? And here I wasn't even a purple person til I saw that hue on our car....

The Purple is called Morpheous and it was used 2007 & 2008.

I dread to think what's involved in trying to ship paint across the globe.

Seems GM used 24k gold flakes in some of their paint lol
Not sure about Morpheous, but my K-Pow is $80 a quart, $300 a gallon, and requires a special pearl :(

That's cheap.

I'm sure it's expensive.
For those that want that look.....I saw shadow chrome spray paint advertised on TV this past weekend. Dupli-Color SHD1000 Shadow Black Chrome Coating Spray ($18.99).

those look great on your car, but i will admit they'd be nicer in a bigger size. i hate when practicality rears its ugly head ;)

I know this is an old thread now, but do you have any pics of these wheels on a Heron White car? I'm still trying to decide what wheels I want to get for my next set of tires.

Thanks Paul. Any idea how much a set of these go for these days? I saw one source for little more than $2500 but I'd rather not buy from them if I don't have to.

You won't find a better price than that.
You could gamble on the exchange rate dragging the figure lower someday, but by then the suppliers cheap stock of those might be gone.
I kind of figured that. Thanks anyway.
