Oldie but goodie. Vicki Butler-Henderson finds out whether an 18 year old Lotus Carlton can beat its modern day equivalent, the Vauxhall VXR8 (Holden Commodore)

I'll let her drive my car any day!

I watched that yesterday. I don't care if the Lotus can beat the VXR8, I would rather have the Vauxhall any day.

Vauxhall VXR8 is a rebadged HSV Clubsport.
Used to have LS2, new ones will have LS3.
Manual trans is an option.
They're based on Holden Commodore but then go to HSV for bigger wheels, brakes and various mods, HSV stick Vauxhall badges on and ship them to UK.

And they love to compare them to BMW M5. Even though the Clubsport R8 is the cheapest/basic version of the HSV range. To really compare any of them to a BMW M5 it should be the Senator. (Less balls out styling. Plusher interior. More luxurious)
Is a pretty cool vid. There are a good few of them on youtube etc.

Yeah you're right LDV.
I got sick of trying to correct guys on other USA sites who watched a Topgear or Finalgear Vauxhaul clip and then bitched that their Pontiac GTO's didn't come with all that stuff for "30 grand" like in the vid.
30,000 UK pounds once converted to US$ shut them up ,but still way less than what we pay in Oz for the same car.
