GM uses letter designations for all their cars. The Grand Prix is a W-car and the G8 is an E-car.

Can you take a peek in there and tell me what it takes to get to the evap vent solenoid?

Looks like you have to remove the gas tank to get to the canister vent valve. Otherwise the purge valve is on the engine right in front of the oil fill neck on top of the block.
