I'm bringing my g8 to the dealership for 9 misc problems including the 2-3 shift flare (the other problems are not performance related). I'm removing the trans tune just in case but do I remove the ecm tune also? I drove over there today (in case they wanted me to leave it) to make the appt and removed both tunes and on the way back my CEL came on since I had no tune. I put my tune back in when I get home. So do I remove the ecm tune also, I just don't want any hassling from them. I imagine they will drive it some for the 2-3 shift issue and the CEL will come on during that if not by the time I get there Monday morning.
Both are stealth tunes.

Talk to your tuner. You have a tune installed, you shouldn't be getting a code. Find out what the code is 1st.

I would remove the tune. Some dealerships won't like the headers.

I am getting ready to do the same thing as soon as I can get some home time for a couple of weeks. I have the 2-3, LCA, motor mount replacement, and rattles in two doors that need to be fixed. I plan to pull the VMS tune on both ECM/TCM. But I don't have headers so I don't expect to have a CEL.

I have the 2-3 and LCAs to go in for as well and I'll be removing my tunes as well.

If you have the stealth tunes for the ECM and trans just leave them in there. They shouldn't be able to see them, which is the reason for the stealth tunes.

they say stealth tune but I talked to my servicr manager and he laughed and said if it is in there I will find it. I don't know if this is true. I left my tune in when I have service done. Our service manager is very cool here in Indy.

I always remove my tunes when I take it in, or the one time I took it in. Maybe you can get close to the dealer and pull the tunes there in order to avoid popping a code as quickly. Depending on how close you are to the dealer I guess.

Yeah I haven't heard a definite yes or no whether they can detect the stealth tune, so it's possible they might be able to find it. If there's any doubt then the OP should flash it back to stock to be safe.
