Well, I guess I have only myself to blame.

I've preached religiously about backing into parking spaces to avoid damaging the front, low hanging spoiler. Yesterday morning @ 5am, my beautiful, lovely, caring girlfriend went to LAX to pick up her daughter and she did just that...she backed into the parking space. She has always had a problem misjudging the size of the G8 and this time was no exception.

BAM! Backed right into the wall in the parking garage. I was going to tell her before she left to just pull in forward since there were so many reports of people getting ticketed for no front plate. No point advertising it while it sat parked. But, alas, I did not tell her and what happened, happened.

She's pretty pissed at herself. She called me crying to give me the bad news. I took it better than I thought to be honest. After looking at it, it's not "horrible", basically a dimple with a crease that created cracks in the paint on the plastic. But you can ask Jess (WickedMom), I am frickin' anal about how this car looks. I'm always detailing it and this will drive me nuts. I haven't taken pictures yet but i will post them once I do.

Always pull in forward. GXP fascia is cheaper than rear ;)

The front GXP fascia is only about $180 list $117.00 wholesale

What about the standard G8 GT fascia? Any price difference for the front? The rear is exactly the same correct? Minus the diffuser of course.

Yes rear is the same between sedan, GT, and GXP
Front is 463 list and around $317 wholesale for the stock GT fascia.

Don, lemme make some calls, I'm sure I can get something for you. But you might have to bring it to Ventura (where the body shop is) but two birds one stone, get the engine cover done cheaper cause the paints already mixed!!

I backed up into my spot at work the other day and thought man I'm close to that guard rail and sure enough I was! I had backed up against it! I pulled forward to inspect the damage and LUCKILY there was none! I figure I must have just rolled up against it so slightly that it didn't do anything.

Like I said, this is pretty minor but it will drive me nuts looking at it all the time. I also think it wont be long before the paint starts to flake or peel from those cracks.

Mine is torn up pretty good from highway driving. maybe I should get the GXP instead of the GT fascia.
Any idea on if they mount the same as the GT? And use the same hardware for foglights?

They mount the same, but you will need additional parts to hold the fog lights on the GXP bumper I believe.

Don, I think that's totally fixable. I might need more pictures to get a total estimate, but I'll make some calls today.
