View Full Version : Anyone considered "murdering" their car?

For those who aren't familiar with murdering, it means to paint the car flat black and tint the windows pretty dark. I think, if you have a bad ass car, then murdered looks pretty good.
Here are two examples.

Well, doesn't look as bad as I imagined, but I think you should take an aspirin and lay down for awhile. :p

I think it looks quite cool actually. Never heard that term before though...

I was seriously considering satin black on my vette. It certainly makes a statment...but IMHO you have the performance to back up the external attitude.

Back when I was young a black primered car was the nuts. Nothing is new, history repeats, etc, etc.

Murdered out! lol. That vette reminds me of the bat mobile for some reason...:hmm:

I love that look! I think I would get murdered if I did that to my car though. My wife loves the red, I bought it for her and well you know what happened.

I like the first car a lot better than the vette in the second pic. Would be nice to see what the G8 looks like Murdered.

You can weld up the doors and spend the next few years climbing thru windows too.......that doesn't mean you should.

It looks terrible. The term "murdered" is indeed an appropriate one.

I think it looks pretty damn good but I doubt I would have the nerve to do that. If I was single and this wasn't my daily driver I would probably go for it.

I don't like the flat black, but this looks great to me:

Yep, when I get around to buying new rims, that's going to be it. I do need to buy new window mouldings from Paul.

I've seen a Vette IDENTICAL to that going down the highway about a month ago, sounded MEAN as all Hell... I loved it..

Hmm, when you think of murder, there should be blood and such. Shouldn't it be solid red???? lol

There doesn't have to be blood when someone is murdered...

The flat colors are coming back pretty strong. I have the flat denim blue on my HD Street Glide. It could be a possible option in the future if something would ever happen to the car and it would have to be repainted.....It does look sharp.

If I had the impulse to do that to my car I would go on a looooong vacation first, before I massacred, I mean murdered the poor car!

Alot of new Harleys are coming from the factory like this.
I have actually contemplated flat blacking the G8. So easy to maintain.

It looks too much like those trashy, half-done project cars from my youth. They ran out of money after applying the bondo and primer coat. To each their own, but I dislike it very much. I'm such a big fan of paint that I don't like silver or gray cars either.

I LOVE the look....hate the slang term. Leave it to the teens of today to give something cool a stupid slang name.
I love the look as well. It's called "Murdered Out" though. . . anyway, I digress.
I've heard that flat black vehicles show every freakin scratch known to man and you have to take extra care when washing. Here's another murdered out ride (Rob's from Rob&Big):
http://i19.tinypic.com/6hee2s6.jpg
Recently he has painted it a (matte) flat white, he calls it his stormtrooper.

Your right on the "Murdered Out".
I like both of those Tahoes! The storm trooper looks pretty cool.

Not sure how it would look. This BMW is close in shape to the G8 so it would give some idea.

IMO....This car would look very nice with a half clear and half flat black.....with the top being cleared...
Cant seem to find any pics of what I am talking about though....but I have dreamed of doing this for years now....

That Ferrari looks absolutely bad ass!
I like the look but wouldn't have the nerve to do it to mine.
If I had unlimited funds it would definitely be an option!!

If I wasn't going to use the GXP as a daily driver and if I had a lot more money I would murder out the GXP. The problem is that you really need to be able to back that look up with some performance. I wouldn't feel right doing that unless I had well over 500 rwhp.

I think this matte-black & matte-colors (as its called around here) becomes the car paint fashion now a days .. looks great but not in all cars

Well, since I only have the V6, I wouldn't feel I could "back it up" plus I kinda like the color of the ignition orange (pumpkin spice as my g/f says).
I was thinking of powder coating the rims flat black, or a dark gunmetal....just for something different.

I think on a classic muscle car it's the way to go.
I considered it for my trans am and then realized it wouldn't look as hot.
I think the G8 could pull it off though b/c it looks really hulky and big, not like the t/a's with their sleek curves

Daddy like the murdered out look. Definitely looks like you just came from a back alley pulling off a hit for someone.
And I agree - if you do this to your car, it better have the balls to back up the look.

I don't like the matte black paint.
But I had always heard murdered out referring to blacking everything out on a black car, not necessarilly involving painting it matte black. But black tint, black tails, black any chrome, etc.

I have a real desire to either have it murdered next year or do a Screaming Yellow paint job.
Crazy, but something to make it really stand out.

Screamin' yellow sounds great with black leather interior. Perfect. Forget about the massacre. JMO. And it's not a humble one either.

Murdered doesn't really require the flat black treatment. All black is the same. At least that was my understanding.
