Hello!

On the other site a guy had replaced his bulbs with LED ones to provide a brighter whiter look. I asked where he got them and here's what he said.

I got them from www.v-leds.com. The original bulb is a 2825, and the led I bought was a 194, part #194_6_W_SHORT. The backup lights were 1156, part #1156_60_SMT_W.

So I jumped on there and ordered the same. The total came to 58.47 with shipping because I searched google for a coupon code for them. It was 5XK4UF and it saves you 10% or basically the cost of shipping them.

See his pic below.

OK I was a bit bummed this AM as I started my car remotely I noticed one of my license place lights blinking. SO... I jumped back onto v-led's and ordered a different style this time.

Use "toyotanation" as a coupon code good for 15% off.

The 194_HP2_w is the number I ordered... Like I said I JUST ordered these so I am not 100% sure they fit yet.

I measured mine against the specs they gave and it shouldn't be an issue.

I always used superbrightleds.com for my accent lights and such on my duramax, great prices with even better quality. Also, you can use sylvania's site for bulb size references.

I saw a 500 series Beamer running those (if they're not stock). It really brightens the ass-end of the car. Thanks for posting the part numbers 4gasm.....Will look into these in next couple weeks. Going to look into an LCD cluster bulb for the brake lights as well, as I like the visibility of them. I run one on my Street Glides tailight and love it.

You're welcome guys. The high end cars come stock with these.

Vleds has a link to Sylvania for all the cross overs. I bought a trunk light. We'll see if it fits.

OK so I was fumbling around with the light that was bunk and I noticed what has happened inside. The diode they put in it broke the solder joint from it to the bank of LED's. If I could disassemble I could fix it in about 30 seconds with a soldering iron. It's glued so it may just happen.

Let us know if those new lights work. In the past I've always gone with superbrightleds.com as well.

They worked GRRRR8! No issues with fit and they are bright as HELL for only 1 LED.

I also replaced the trunk light with an LED replacement. What a bitch! It didn't want to come out. I owned it though!:)

Whats the trunk bulb number and how does it look? Is it the same brightness as the reverse lights? That looks awesome!

So is this a lot brighter than the stock bulbs? I'd like to do this but don't want to have a dim light output.

OK I've been requested to post up links of all my bulb purchases.

The back up bulbs. (http://www.v-leds.com/Shop/Control/Product/fp/vpid/5746468/vpcsid/0/SFV/32481)

The license plate bulbs. (http://www.v-leds.com/Shop/Control/Product/fp/vpid/4481133/vpcsid/0/SFV/32481)

The trunk light (http://www.v-leds.com/Shop/Control/Product/fp/vpid/6283693/vpcsid/0/SFV/32481)

The back up bulbs are bright but I'm thinking they aren't quite as bright as the stockers but they are close IMO. I have tinted windows so it's hard for me to see the light anyway. I have never had any issues backing up though. Remember to use "toyotanation" as the coupon code.

Cheers,
Chris

Just wanted to add my thoughts as i finally got mine in last night.

I used these for the backup lights and they work pretty well... they are a cheaper option too:

http://www.v-leds.com/Shop/Control/Product/fp/vpid/4481186/vpcsid/0/SFV/32481

Also i used the same licenses plate lights and they look great. Just be aware they are VERY bright... probably 2 - 3 times brighter then stock.

It WAS a bizatch and I haven't taken the glove box bulb out yet so I am not sure.

I would almost suggest you disconnect the battery when removing the light in the trunk.

I changed all my interior lights to LEDs... i'll have take some pictures though. As for installing them just pull down the whole overhead console from the front, it's VERY HARD though. Also, if you have a sunroof pop off the panel farthest back and then remove the two screws to pull down the entire thing.

As for the rear dome light it's pretty much the same process, just pull really hard.

Just to let everyone know that I stop using the LEDs red brake lights because they kept going out!!

How do you change the license plate lights? I don't see any external screws, but I hope I don't have to go in via the back of the trunk.

i'll be replacing my license plate LED bulbs for the third time in less than two years now. one side always starts flickering, until it eventually goes out. right now it's strobing like crazy, i hope I don't get pulled over.

I've used autozone LEDs forever on the plate lights. My Klearz gave me more hassle with flickering so i put dielectric grease on them like crazy to seal them from water/moisture in the bulb holder.

To replace the license plate lights [in this old thread] you remove all of the round plastic christmas tree style fasteners out and remove the padded trunk liner from the trunk lid. Reach in, remove the bulb/socket.

Add dielectric grease to all installs.

Most of the links no longer work......my license plate bulb is listed as 2825 is this the same as 194?

Yes, just be careful of the length you choose so it fits in the space. Not all tower leds will fit.

There's a sticky in the electronics section with all the bulb specs.
