Just wondering what others have done to help lower IAT's on their maggie setups? If not a permanent reduction, what a about things that can help them come down quicker. The summer heat really sucks the life out of this thing especailly after shotdown and leaving the car sit....IAT's at start-up can be 140-150 range!!! Has anyone done an auxillary fan/switch set-up that can run intercooler pump/fan while shutdown in between runs for track days???

nitrous, water wetter, e85, cry 02, no hood, meth, extra coolant tank for more fluid, build a ice box so ice water can be ran in the system.

You can run the intercooler pump by just leaving the key on (engine off,,, key on) and then use something like a dashhawk to run the fan on High.... not sure how much it helps... but it may....

Can you run a spacer under it?

OK, I didn't realize the intercooler pump came on with just Ignition in the on position. I do have a dashhawk so I am hoping the manual fan control works on our G8's with it. I'll give this a method a try and see what kind of success it brings before going to more drastic measures (ie meth, small dry shot, etc.). I guess there's always the classic bag of ice on top of the intake in between runs too :)

Higher capacity pump and larger heat exchanger work best.

Any suggestions on this? I would love to look at this option!!!! The pump scares me....... if for some reason it doesnt work or stops pumping... we would never know!!!! (or would we??).... if the pump stops for some reason....what happens? scary in my mind!!

You would loose a lot of power, I think I'd notice. I don't think there would be any damage before you would notice.

Most guys with procharger and a water/meth kit relocate the IAT sensor right in front of the water/meth nozzle so that it will spray the iat also. This drops down the iat temps immediately, not sure about how much it drops the temps though...

This.

Look at the Magnuson catalog. The heat exchanger supplied with the G8 1900 and 2300 systems (same unit supplied on both systems) is about 1/2 the size of that supplied with the Camaro, Corvette, and Challenger 2300 systems. The larger one won't fit on the G8 according to Magnuson.
