I bought a '99 Chevy Silverado 1500 today. I pick it up this evening after the accountant gets off work. She asked if she was going to be able to drive this one after a year. She may have been a little sarcastic as she has not been allowed to drive the G8. :/

Here's a stock image of the truck I bought. It was raining all day so I didn't get the camera out.

LOL Wife wants to drive the truck to work today. Asked me to change her oil and rotate her tires. She added, " since I don't get to drive the G8".

I pushed her off 'till tomorrow. I put a fuel filter in the truck and got the brake pads and oil for her Escape. She gets the truck then.
Filled it up with 93. $1.99 a gallon, took $36.

My G8 is away for the winter too. My winter driver is a 99 Yukon. I'm glad gas is cheap again. For now...

Since it looks like it will be to crappy to hit Milan one last time I will be switching rims and putting the G8 in storage mode. Only reason I'm switching rims is incase something happens to one of the Foci, and I have to use it :(

I need some advise picking tires for the truck. It's 2 wheel drive and will see some snow and ice over the Winter. For the majority though, I'll be in the Interstates between home and customers in the mid-west. Like Lima Ohio, in January.
Winter tires or all seasons?
Aggressive tread patterns? How loud are they on the Interstates?
Thanks in advance.

Even though no one had any opinions, I bought tires anyway. ;)

Those tires should be fine for what you need. Run about 38-40 in the front unless they say max psi 35 and 33 in the rear so they dont wear in the midddle of the tread.

Yeah, that's what I thought too. I'll be putting extra weight in the back.

i was about to ask the question, " what do you do with your G8 in the winter?" so all of you store your G8 in the winter? just a question. i live in ohio and winters can get alittle rough especially when you live by lake erie. i can see 8" of snow at one time, or it can snow for 3-4 days straight. so should i be reading all of your posts as,

"this car sucks in the snow / winter and that is why i'm storing it."

or

" i love my car that much i don't want to chance it getting all jacked up, because i have a winter truck too."

just a thought. thanks.

I have a 2003 Silverado that I drive to work. The dealer won't give a fair trade for so I kept it for work and around the house also to drive in the snow. The G8 will be driven sometimes in the winter but the roads must be dry for that. I want to keep the G8 for a long time.

I don't want my G8 all jacked up. No salt is going to touch that car. I just don't want to risk wrecking it. Tonight the roads were all icy.

You can store mine as long as it comes back with a cam in it !!!

I drive my Xterra in the winter. The G8 hasn't even seen rain yet.
