On the way home this evening I had a Saab aero decide he wanted to see what the G8 had. He tried and tried but I was letting the car get up to running temp so after about 5 miles on the highway I jumped onto I-80 heading East and he was coming up hard behind me....
More to come...

as he got stuck in traffic and fell back. I slowed to about 65 and threw it into 3rd and he was coming up at (I would guess) 85 or so and as soon as I couldn't see him in my rear view mirror (passing me) I nailed it and left him for dead. I then shifted to 4th which allowed him to catch up as I let off to shift. He thought he had me until I hit 4th and then I had maybe 4 cars on him and he whipped over behind me and flashed his lights.
The race was over...

Yea....Saabs have always been butt ugly, but they made up for it in the performance and handling dept. Used to get to drive them pretty regularly when I was a kid, as my stepdad used to sell them....A 900 Turbo was my usual weekend play toy, lol.

I was sooooo far ahead that it didn't matter. I should have just flopped it back into drive I guess...
Try it sometime when loafing in town. I rev it to about 3500 then let off the gas and shift at the same time and then as soon as it shifts I hit the pedal again. I just like hearing it come down between revs I guess... :loser:
