Hello All G8 GT lovers.

What is the best cold air intake to replace to stock maze GM put on our cars?

My filter now is the K & N but the maze is such a cluster f_ _ _k.

I am looking for some tried and true wisdom here.

Thanks

Uh-oh... A question like that might open up pandora's box!!....

Anyway.... that is probably the most asked question around here. There is a lot of variables on what is the "best" CAI and you will find alot of different arguments. Some technically based and some very subjective. I suggest that you search the forums and do some digging. Maybe a good spot to start is the Intake/Exhaust forum here.... The first rule about Fight Club...

I like Volant because it has a sealed box and uses a non-oil 80K to 100K mile filter. OK, and I'm biased because I own one.

make your own. ma not be as pretty but it works the same as long as you make a heat shield for it and you will have something to be proud of... also costs about half as much

The 2 most popular are the Roto-Fab and the Vararam.

To each his own.......my advice is base your decision off of which one you prefer the looks of, because they all are comparable in performance. The VaraRam is a good choice, but some don't like the "Kirby vacuum" looks. The Roto-Fabs look good, especially when paired wth one of their radiator covers.

Seems like 4inch drainage pipe (white) connects to throttle body, but using the correct silicone connectors, 4 inch PVC could work as well.
For the long run, first decide how you want it. If you want a side feed, build your own or look to Roto-fab. If you are OK with the OTR design, Vararam may be the way to go. If forced induction is in your future, it may (will) dictate which one you go with.
I'm saying that there are factors in play here besides "which is best"...

You cant fail with the Vararam OTR or the Rotofab.

I have the Vararam OTR and I love it..
