Buick Dealers,

When we introduced the Buick Regal GS show car at the 2010 North American International Auto Show in January, it was our intent to gauge interest from consumers and automotive journalists before we decided whether to add it to the Buick portfolio.

Reaction to the GS show car has been overwhelmingly positive, as many of you have experienced first-hand from your customers. We have received daily passionate pleas via email, our Buick Facebook page and other means asking us to build the GS -- and soon.

This outpouring of positive feedback has prompted us to now confirm that we will be adding this high-performance version of the Regal to our portfolio.

We will share more specifics, including production timing, once the details are finalized.

The Regal is bringing performance back to Buick and the GS will serve as a great "halo" vehicle that will continue Buick's transformation.

Thank you for all that you do for Buick.

Is it a turbo or v8?

Only time will tell. My guess is turbo.

I think it will be a turbo too.

It would probably be a version of the LNF.

I'm pretty sure they said 255bhp ecotec turbo but speculation is that with the new Hyundai Sonata turbo's 276bhp, Buick will up the ante some. It'd have to be close to if not exceeding 300BHP for me to look twice at it.

I'd like to see more than the advertised 220hp/258tq out of it, but hey still a potent motor.

There are some cool features on it though, the Interactive Drive Control System brings a european-eque feature to the car - I.E. BMW or Benz

One question I have is what is up with the electronic parking brake? It uses an electronic solenoid to pull a cable that activates the parking break. What was wrong with the trusty handle in the cabin?
