I've read some good things about Royal Purple Synchromax manual transmission fluid on other boards. Can these transmissions (TR6060) be drained and refilled close to 100% from underneath with minimal effort, or would it not even be worth the trouble? Thanks!

Anyone? Maybe I'll have to stick my head under there and see what I can figure out

From what the service manual says it seems you can drain most of the fulid by pulling the drain plug. The car should be level when you check the fluid level, so you may need 4 jack stands.

Is Royal Purple fluid worth it? I'm not sure I have never used the Synchromax, but it does sell really well.

I've read on some of the corvette forums it makes the shifts noticeably smother. It sounds a little too good to be true. I figured it couldn't hurt. I just wasn't sure on how to refill since there is no dipstick for the transmission.

Synchomax works very well in standard transmissions. As long as it is a compatible fluid there should be no issues.

You just fill the manual trans until the fluid comes out of the fill hole. Very simple.

I'm going to give the Amsoil TorqueDrive ATF a shot when the time comes, I have a gallon on the way [for other projects as well]

It looks like I might need transmission servicing again here soon :( , so I'll probably wait to see how that turns out first. But it seems like its a pretty easy job, just have to locate the fill and drain plugs

I just changed my fluid in the M6 and when I was re filling the trans, I noticed a 2nd drain plug near the very rear of the transmission. Wasn't too happy since I was just about done filling the trans.

I have never seen a transmission with 2 drain plugs. Learn from my mistake!!
