Only the GS is slated to get AWD. And that package isn't "confirmed" as of yet.

Typical GM playing games again thats all.
This car should carry a V8 option IMO. Also you would think AWD would be standard as it is in their European models.

Dealer told me that they are considering a 3.0 Liter V6. Why did they state that AWD was going to be on the car. Remember all the magazine articles and statements from GM. Well the G8 is my last GM product. Guess it will be either back to Infiniti or on to a BMW. Hate to do it but with the tranny problems and a GM warranty that is basically worthless nothing left to do.

As far as I know the AWD was only going to be on the performance model GS. And the V6 in the Opel OPC wasn't coming to the states, the Turbo'd 4cyl was going to be the top engine and only available in the GS.

Or buy a G8, throw a Chevy Lumina front end on, and some Impala badges! No waiting!

Not the way a Regal should come back....I had a 1986 Buick Regal T-Type and for this 2011 Buick Regal to match the History it sould of been a V6 DI Twin Turbo.

All Regals weren't turbocharged, so unless they call it a Grand National or something, then it's just a regular car.

=1^

I agree Don.
IMO Buick is making a mistake with the new Regal. Should have the 6.0 option on the GS. Better yet come out with a limited Grand National with the 6.0. Huge disappointment with what they did to the Regal Name w/ a 4 banger turbo. Sounds like something you find in a Japanese or VW tuner car.
The new Impala will have more buyers.

Christian is right people can just convert a fascia swap and add Impala badges and Wa La!

You guys are forgetting, the Regal is based on a smaller platform than the Lacrosse sits on. No way, no how a V8 will fit in that engine compartment.

I rather like this Regal, smaller, more nimble, the 4cyl is likely lighter than the V6 so the car will handle better than it's OPC counterpart.

All this time I was thinking it was based on the same platform as the Lacrosse. Now that makes more sense.
I still wouldn't consider a 4 banger. I agree with you that its lighter making the car more nimble but they cannot take abuse or mileage that well.IMO
I have to admit the only 4 banger that I respect comes from Honda. I cannot believe I said that ..Now I need to wash my mouth out with soap!

Yea but like I stated you do not have to have a Grand National for it to be Turbocharged, The turbo 3.8 liter was used in the following vehicles:

1978-1987 Buick Regal Sport Coupe, T Type, Grand National and GNX
1978-1980 Buick LeSabre Sport Coupe
1979-1980 Buick Century Turbo Coupe
1979-1985 Buick Riviera S Type and T Type
1980-1981 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
1989 Pontiac Trans Am Turbo

But the point being if you plan to market the Regal than you have to come out with a BANG.

Personally I still can't believe they dropped Pontiac and kept Buick instead. You cant tell me a Trans Am wouldn't sell better than this car. Look at all the Camaros on the road already.
