Pedders EP2112 looks to be a fairly easy install and is reasonably priced. Does it make any difference? Worth doing?

Any further tips on installing this? i need to try to do it on ramps if possible. it comes with a little packet of grease too, where does this go?

Grease goes inside the bushing only, not outside. The split can go on either side. Unbolt the rack, remove the old bushing, lift the rack slightly and wrap the new one around it...done

Sure sounds easy! I assume it'll be reasonable clear which piece is the "rack"? Guess I'll admit I don't know shit about steering....

It'll look a lot like but not the same as this...

Great, thanks! Looks a bit difficult to get to but that could be just the angle.

It is easier than it looks.

Anyone know the torque for the bolts?

40-45ft lbs will be fine.

That was more of a bitch than I expected. This can be done on ramps but it's difficult. I expected to remove nuts off the bottom but those are welded, you have to remove the bolts from the top of the bracket. Bolts were hard out most of the way and hard back in too. Very little room to swing your ratchet, no chance to get my torque wrench in there. Other than that it was pretty much as expected. This is likely easier on a lift with wheel removed.

As for driving feel, I can't really tell. might be a bit smoother but that could be me wanting it to be.

On a lift through the wheel is easy. Congrats on the install Tom. I must say it again you never cease to amaze me on what you get done on your car with the bare minimum. Persistence beats Resistance.

thanks Charlie! All I have is a slanted driveway and rhino ramps. My jack won't fit under the front of my car and I had to turn my garage into a bedroom last year. I have a fair collection of hand tools but not much automotive specialty stuff.

I used to be an aircraft mechanic so I know my way around tools anyway. That was an awful long time ago though.
