Want to perk up that band-type oil filter wrench that always seems to slip just when you're trying to get that stubborn filter to turn? Just take a sander belt and rip it into 3/4" strips (long-ways, fool) and glue it around the inside of the wrench band with some good glue (Gorilla). Now you have some traction!
And that's another "Cheap-*ss Mod"!

That's a good idea, I have one of those and I never use it because it slips. I have lots of used sanding belts laying around so maybe I'll give it a try.

I use K&N oil filters, 1" nut on the end :)

So I guess your son has never run off with the socket you need, huh. Yet.

I use one oil filter wrench for everything; 20" channel-lock plyers.
