anyone from this forum in south florida attend tower shops on friday night or have little meets? i would like to go to countyline or palm beach motor speedway. i have a couple vipers that will be attending.
i would also just like to meet up and see what people have done as i got another job and will be making some good money.

no one reported back on towers so i guess no one went? I tuned a turbo cobalt yesterday and it make me want to tune my g8 :( i wanted to wait a litle but its killing me , i might have to hook up hp tuners to it sooner than i thought

Nah not modded yet I just traded in my ion redline for the g8. I just swapped over my fogs , turn signals and low beams to hid just now and I have a set of austrialian tein springs so i should be lowered on rims next week

i think it was because of the weather. but it was good at towers.

its a small family owned shop on sample just past dixie.
met the guy on the form through saltyrodz, who has been tuned by him. they have over 40yrs experience among the family. they also do wonders when it comes to these motors and these cars

they did everything very well and all did go well. i am saving up for headers now. so hopefully in september, i will be purchasing them. im debating between kooks long tubes or doug thorley.

ill take one if i get one for cheap but its by far not my first choice i just sold my tvs on another car and i dont think i want another one, its too hot in fl to try to build power with a sc and it takes power to make power on a sc, your gonna spend all your time trying to figure out how to lower your intake temps, i not in the mood to deal with that. just wanna turn up boost and make power :)

I know with the future plans you have work past it quickly. An interesting note that a track tech at Countyline told me was to not try and heat up street tires too much. He said the compound gets slick when hot, not sticky. Just give the a quick spin or two to clean them up. I have experienced better times by airing them down a little as well. The flat repair kit in the trunk makes it easy to air them back up to drive home. My best is 60' w/ 20's is a 1.99

Yeah we always drive around the water. I'll def let you know next time . Funny people kept asking me if that's a bimmer. All in all it was a good night we came back with 2 broken cobalts ss supercharged and lots of fun

i hate 1/8 mile tracks. i wont be going back to the track until im able to slide all over it.

Had a good night, got to hang with saltyrodz and make a couple of runs with him. Beat 2 quick cars with reaction time. My times weren't stellar but enough to win. Took out a yellow first gen EVO with 8.876 @ 83 to 8.814 @84.2 and a gutted turbo white civic with drag wheels 8.63@84.26 to 8.582@92.89- he was pulling on the top end but I had a 2.02rt to his .373. Best 60' was that run w/2.186 on 20" street tires.

The night was great had a bunch of passes avg time was an 8.798 my slowest pass was a 9.210 and fastest was a 8.68 @ 84 mph my best 60 foot was 2.19 all in all a good night took out 2 slopars and a ls2 powered vette. Kevs car looks bad ass I wish I could have stayed longer. But was car #1 so was there real early.

towers usually starts @ around 7:00 and there is a import and a domestic section , they usually park in the domestic

I just finished installing HIDs this weekend and had to fix the relay harness among all the other stuff I was doing over the weekend, so I had to spread the work both days and didn't have time to wash it, meaning it hasn't been washed in a couple weekends. Then I had to lift it again yesterday because I got condensation in my driver side headlight and I had to dry it out and seal the dust cover... In other words, apart from the regular dirt buildup from being a DD, as well as the dirt from the HID install, my front wheels had a good amount of brake dust on them, and taking them on and off means they have fingerprints all over that dust lol... I'd feel bad showing it in that condition...

I'm probably going to wash it today before it goes into the dealer tomorrow for the LCAs... It'll probably come back dirty (I'd prefer that than having them wash it), but if it's not too bad I'll see if I can head up Friday, assuming nothing comes up.

This is me against a buddy of mines foxbody he has some work done trick flow manifold trick flow heads cam headers gears and 150 shot of nos that was the cleanest run for both of us together and I got win light his fastest for the night was 8.8 mine was 8.6

Had BMR Sway Bars installed recently and the car handles a lot flatter now. Nice improvement. Car goes into oversteer a little easier now though but that's fun! I exchanged my throttle body for a ported and polished one too and I feel a nice little change in the mid to high end under full throttle. My butt says so anyways...I'll be getting a DOD cam package soon too but debating between Livernois' or Vector's...

he got his from slp. i got mine from hennessey. install was pretty easy. i did it for him front and rear took 5 hrs with hand tools. problem is hes lowered to its harder to get under the car.

i dont think it was him that early. but his wheels are sterling silver.

Exactly....That powertrain warranty came in handy when my lifters failed at 38K. Thankfully I didn't have my headers in yet. The headers would have voided the warranty. So will the Livernois Stage 1 Cam package when I get it but by then these weak ass lifters and crappy DOD gear will be gone....

The cam package will take a few months. I recently had my radio retrofit with XM, got an Onstar module with Bluetooth, Camaro wheels and brakes, powdercoating, etc. so I need to cool it for a while.

Plasti-dipping the grilles is a must, especially on a White Hot. Go for it.....Many months later, mine still looks great.

Yeah just take them off and spray a light coat......then another coat after an hour.........then another coat, wait an hour, then another coat. Don't overspray it or it will start to run and look like crap. I had to redo mine twice. Multiple light coats until it's dark and thick is best.

Did the emblem break? If not, just put it back with 3M double sided tape. That's how my custom 3rd Shift Studios emblem is on.
