Got tired of all the things going wrong after the accident. Cars are not the same ever...
Got my hummer back. I'm happier now.
I'll miss the g8!

My G8 will for sale sale when I get back from Vegas!
Wow... Interesting. There had to be some pros to the deal, but on the surface I have no idea what. Ha.

Sounds good to me, trucks are more useful more of the time.
Congrats on the trade! I'd trade mine if it was worth anything.

Ok. It will all make sense now.
Prior to the G8 i had a hummer. H3.

Modded it alot, off roaded it alot.. soooo much fun
http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q44/JeepEaterH3/My%20Lift%20and%20tire/PICT5057-1.jpg
As far as my situation, we have 5 acres near home, and 75 acres about 30mins away where our 9 horses are.
I had a bike, yamaha r6 when i had my hummer. Went a little extreme on the hummer, i had the inline 5cyl and lifted it as you can see. the little engine couldnt take it. i lost my love for the truck after that.
I got rid of the bike because every day was a near death experience in florida. people never pay attention to bikes.
But... i still was in the "need for speed" mode. So i sold the hummer for a decent price and got the g8. I Loved it. Still do.
But with land and horses and all, the g8 has restricted me from doing anything, cant go there roads are real rutted and all dirt, cant pull trailers, cant do much work at all... not to mention fishing or taking my dog somewhere.
After the accident the g8 kept having issue after issue, to the point where i gave up and didnt care for the car anymore.
The body shop cut me a deal i couldnt pass up. and now i have the hummer again, this time i have the alpha, which is the h3 but with a 5.3L v8.
As sad as i am to see my car go, i feel now i can get back to normal and help the family with the horses and have a little more fun.
I know ALOT of people dont like hummers, but i love them. They never break! Ive put my old one through hell, and never failed! Heres some pics to show Why i got a hummer... No bling bling here!
this is what i used to do..

I had a 94 Tacoma that was a blast in the mud. Hurricane Floyd killed it took in some water and punched a hole in the block.

Now that is the reason to have a Hummer. Too bad you can't have the best of both worlds though.

I can see why you got the Hummer now, you should have said that from the beginning. If it was me I would have kept the G8 and conquered that terrain with my YZ250, or bought an ATV. They're a lot easier to clean too.

Definitely two completely different vehicles. But I can understand the desire to have both types.
Enjoy you new, more powerful Hummer! (compared to the old Hummer)

The H3 is just a Chevy pickup chassis & drivetrain with a Hummer body.

So is the H2 and just about every other SUV on the market. But the H3 happens to be more capable off road in most conditions, FJ Cruiser is another good one assuming you don't want a Rubicon.

We have a minivan and it does come in handy. Luckily my wife drives it all the time and I drive the G8 all the time, unless I need it to haul something large. I also have a utility trailer that I can pull with the minivan if I want to haul our dirt bikes.

We have a GMC Safari. Someone was telling me that a LS type engine will fit in it. That's something I'd like to try eventually!

Not good. I've had 600cc atv's and a streetbike. It takes time to learn your limits and figure out how to control your machines. I don't intend to stunt or anything, i just like to ride :-)

My YZ250 is more than enough for off road riding, I see no need to have any more power than that. It'll pull the front wheel up in any of the first 3 gears.

I love that pic! I completely understand why you wanted to go back to the Hummer. I love off-roading, and wish there were some good places near my house for me to go do it. I had a 4x4 Chevy up until about a year ago, but never really got the chance to take it on any trails.
Goodluck with the new ride!

I had a Chevy shortbed pickup with a 6" lift and 35" Monster Mudder tires. That thing would go anywhere and never got stuck, and there was no hill too steep for it to climb. I would launch it off the jumps and it never bottomed out, I had so much fun off roading with that truck. Too bad it was such a gas hog and it didn't ride very good either. I eventually traded it for a Chevy S-10 Blazer that was underpowered and didn't have nowhere near the ground clearance that the pickup had.
