People in Prius' here near DC are ALWAYS flying along. They get in the HOV lanes and think they own them because they have a hybrid. Then when they get to the regular highways they still want to own the road. I have witness about three times a Prius just driving fast and out of control like they have 500 HP, I every time I point and laugh.

i plan on taking the prius to the track soon to see what it'll do in the 1/4. I've been reading up on how to launch it. This is what i've came up with as the best way to drag race a prius based on only what i've read:

- charge the battery to full by holding the gas and brake all the way down till the engine shuts off.

- launch the car in "b" mode because it will pre-load the engine to "launch"

- of course try to have as little fuel as possible

i think i should be able to hit somewhere in the mid 17 second range. (hopefully) which is actually not bad.

I dont see whats wrong with a Prius forum? Hell I have been on Jetski, Jeep, RC car and remodel forums... common interest is all it is. Now the kill section well we all know there is not much a Prius will kill but than again I have seen some pretty retarded "kill" threads on g8board as well.

For those not seeing the hypocracy, allow me to elaborate. I personally see nothing wrong with Prius owners chatting it up about how to get the best mileage, which tree is the best for hugging, and which veggie burger is the real thing. They deserve a website too (my suggestion would be "WWW.Hump-a-baby-seal.com). I do see real hypocracy in spending extra money for a car that will save the earth with it's carbon footprint, then bragging about how it hauls ass at the racetrack. Now I'll agree that there is always a contingent that hot-rods entry level cars and others because that is what they can afford. This is not the case with the dreaded Prius, with an MSRP that approaches 28K. This is a car you buy to make a statement. If you wanted that statement to be "I get great mileage AND I can go fast", go buy a TDI.

It had dealer plates, an on-off switch... and I think a CF hood... the rear liftgate was black, the roof was black too... low profile tires & Custom wheels!! OOOO that sucker was sooo... umm FA--S.... uh nevermind.

the prius tops out at 108... yeah.. i know.. it does 107 easy.. does 108 easy.. and you still get 15mpg... but that's it.. you can't go faster than 108.. trust me.. i tried when racing an M3 down a highway.. all downhill.. only reason he beat me ( i had low profiles on the car) is because he tops around 150.
