Went to Englishtown Saturday morning with a bunch of friends, and met up with Crystal (Remikinz) and her family, and we all headed down to Englishtown together. I ran a new PB of 12.1 at 114, TWICE, and Remikinz ran a 13.7, also a new pb for her at 101. I put that in the title of the video, but for some reason the scrolling thingy on the opening credits wouldn't work. I was still on all season street tires when I made my runs, and on the first run, I hit the rev limiter on the 1-2 shift in sport mode, which never happened before. I didn't get my 3rd run in cuz it was getting late. The wait took FOREVER to make a pass. To many events at once, gotta stick with friday nights.

Congratulations Mario! Very nice times! So you went from a PB of 12.4x to 12.1x sweet!

I asked on the "Fastest 1/4 mile thread", are the all seasons that you are running on the Goodyear RSA's? 18's? 19's?

I could only muster a 12.51 @ 115mph yesterday with a 1.97 60' time..... *sigh* (And I got to make like 20 passes)......



Edit: That one "catch up" race that I was refering to looked like you were racing a Jeep SRT8, damn those tanks are frickin' quick! lol :)

Yeah, that was an SRT8 jeep. He had a much better reaction time AND 60 foot then me, so on the video, it looks like he destroyed me, but I was bringing him in on top. The all seasons are Potenza Bridgestones Pole positions. AWSOME all seasons, but still all seasons, none the less lol.

Me to Crystal, I WANT 11's!

lol, thanks guys. I'm still confused about my trap speeds. Why does everyone else with the same/similar mods and power trap around 118-119 and I keep trapping around 114??? The 1/4 times are right where they should be, just the trap speeds are confusing the hell outta me.

Yeah vic, that jeep was a monster, time wise, I beat him by less then a tenth. Race wise, he whooped me, much better reaction time, although I was more worried about my launch, and much better 60'

With the stock converter, I was trapping the same exact thing. Car dyno-ed exactly the same after the converter install also

That is a low MPH compared to other cammed cars.

It's barely over what I run (and what Dave used to run).

You are letting it shift to 4th now, right?

I KNOW! I don't know why! I was looking at the 1/4 list, and there are guys with the same mods that ran slower 1/4 times with faster trap speeds, and better 60 foots. That doesn't make sense to me! I think the car has to shift sooner into 4th from third. It's holding out third, stretching it out, at the top the acceleration slows a bit, as soon as it makes the shift, 5-6 mph tick away MUCH faster then they were at the top of 3rd

The majority of the cam only people are trapping 114-116mph. Even Jesse aka BigWilly's58 & TooManyHobbies trapped 110mph & 112mph respectively.

And Paul was trapping around 118-119 before he did the stall. Vic said he trapped 119 on his good run, and the power my car makes is very similar to theirs, maybe the powerband itself is different? Not sure

What are your shift points?

You need to go to the track ready to log and change the shifts.

Go to a T&T where you can get more than 2 or 3 runs. Perhaps a track rental?

Car shifts at around 6700-6800. I gotta play with the mph settings to get it to shift where I want. It's just trial and error, but I need a track to do that. What I did yesterday was test and tune, but they still only allowed 3 runs.

Bring your laptop to the track. Do you have a dyno sheet? I could compare it to mine and look at the curves.


Edit, didn't see that they only allowed 3 passes...

Yes no flare's, except for the 2-3 shift under light throttle when the tranny is cold. Think that's the leaking seal. It only tapped the limiter on the 1-2 shift on that first run in sport mode. It's set to shift slightly higher in sport than regular drive. Second run was in regular drive, didn't touch the limiter

I did and I logged the runs. The dyno sheet shows the hp line stay flat all the way to the end of the test up to 7000 rpms. The torque drops off a bit though, maybe thats why

I know it's kind of unrealistic, but in Michigan at Ubly or Lapeer you can get as many test & tune runs as you want. I'm heading to Ubly either 5/15 or 5/22

What does that have to do with anything?

Anyway, next time you're out play with your shift timings. I doubt the TQ curve dropping off a 7k is going to make you loose that much mph...

That's what they do here as well, you get three "test" runs before bracket racing starts. But as long as your decent you get a few more runs.

Well if there's a bracket race its not T&T. We get 2 runs on bracket days (Sat) but T&T day (Fri night) its unlimited. Guess I was confused...

I was doing test and tune, and E-town only allows 3 passes and the day I went there was a shit load of events going on, so I had to wait almost 4 hours between the passes

The other track is paved with pam LOL! Can get traction there to save your life. Englishtown is a beautiful track, just packed. Friday nights are no were near as bad

I can get 1.7s at Island.

Get some real tires on your sled.

Never go to a "Test and Tune" where there are "events" on the program. That's just the track owner being greedy.

haha well thats how they do test and tunes here... you can usually get more runs in at a Sunday test and tune if you get there early and the gamblers race start later.

Thats why we have rentals so I dont have to worry about it.

Nice runs mario, we gotta get some tires on that thing. Email me the logs. Also remember that DA so if you're comparing your times to others running in better air then that will be a factor with the mph.

I want to experiment with something next time i head out. I was paying close attention to the digital speedo on the runs, and at the top of 3rd, the mph would tick away and almost seem like its running out of steam. As soon as it would shift into 4th, it would jump 3 mph and the speed would tick away faster, so I'm gonna try to have it shift a bit earlier to see what it does to the mph. Just as an experiment ;)

And for some reason, I can't open or view my log from the track! It's giving me a message saying "Unable to open file. Index was outside the bounds of the array." Wtf does that mean???

Try that & see what happens. I noticed that too on top speed runs.

That would be cool if you got quicker results by shifting to fourth sooner. It couldn't hurt to experiment & try a couple of runs......

I wish I knew why my car runs a tenth quicker and 3 mph quicker when I keep it in 3rd then when I put it in 4th? Everyone else swears by keeping it in fourth and going quicker. Def not my car

Because with the cam and other mods you are making more power up top and can utilize holding 3rd with the stock gear. I keep my car in 3rd as well. Now with the new gear that will be different.

Yes what Paul said, and also, everybody's car is different. You gotta cater to your cars specific behaviors and needs.

Also, I make a shit load of power up top, all the up to 7k and probably past that but we didn't go past 7k on the dyno, so why that is happening, I am not sure. Maybe by the time the car gets to the top of 3rd at WOT from 1st, it just gets fatigued.

Give the shift point adjustment a shot, that's what test and tune is for.

For the logs you either logged in beta and are trying to open the file with non-beta, in which case just reinstall beta and it should work. Otherwise there was a glitch when trying to save the file and you're sol, I've seen this problem in editor but not in scanner.

I'll give the shift point thing a try when I go back, I hope to have tires by then lol. I don't have the beta on my current laptop. I only have the regular version. It was acting strange when I went to save it. I clicked save as, typed in E-town 1, hit save, and as soon as the window disappeared, it would pop up again asking me to save it.
