or Clear Lens 90047484 US$6.50

Bulb 11015639 US$3

Glovebox Harness 92172574 US$9
(The glovebox harness has nothing to plug into at the console of a G8 ,but you can trim sections off it & use the wiring and 4 spade connectors from it to wire the switch and lens together.)
Power to the switch can be taken from the nearby orange wire (BCM controlled power) in the cars body harness. You need to run a new earth wire from the switch to body metal.

Check to make sure you have the rectangular blank with cutout underneath inside your console bin before ordering.
Some consoles have 2 plain side walls.

Pick and choose whatever you want from that list then add US$10 for Airfreight.
Currently 3 days to get parts together + 14 days for Airfreight.

Crazy Paul.

I ordered the parts from Paul last year and got around to doing this in early April this year. Here are some pics of the results:

If you do not have a console with the rectangular cut-out and blanking piece already, it's possible to cut your own rectangle out.
It's not an easy job as you have to do the cut from inside the bin.
Here's the dimensions of the rectangular cutout.

OK so I wrecked the first console bin I tried to cut a hole in.
I was using a Stanley Knife (boxcutter) and taking a series of shallow slices along the marked out lines.
Not paying attention (daydreaming/bored) the knife slipped and gouged the console....it's really easy for this to happen.

Take 2.
I made a template drawn out on a Post-It note and used Gaffa Tape (100 mph tape) to tape the template in place.
Then instead of slicing shallow trenches along the lines I used the knife in a sort of tattooing motion, pushing down only and joining one incision onto the next. Keep going around the perimeter and going a little deeper each lap.
No slips and no disaster this time.
Once the waste rectangle drops out you can then lightly smooth out the high spots with the blade.

I might try this after my footwell LED project is done. Another way is to make the major cuts with a Dremel tool and cut-off wheel, stopping short of the corners and getting them with an X-acto knife.

Quite possibly yes.
However you do it, it's a job for a rainy day.
Take your time and be patient.

Yeah you are right.
I totally missed that.
It's rectangular hole needs to be 21mmW x 14mmL
At least access to cut that one is easy.

Cut the rectangular hole for the main body of the switch first.

If you are going to cut the recess and fit the switch with the bezel sitting flush with the top surface of the console.
Fit the switch and trace around the bezel.
The outer bezel thickness (depth) is 2.3mm.
You'll need to carve out a rectangle with rounded corners, approx 1.5mm wide around the outside of the main hole.....but this recessed border is only 2.3mm deep.

If I had the holes I'd be getting the light for sure.... but before I cut anything I'd be making my dome light brighter and using that to see inside my console. Way too much cutting for me, and I'm pretty nutty.
