Anybody else playing this game? All I can say is wow. This was the reason for my pc upgrade and I have to say I'm not disappointed. Single player is pretty lame but the multiplayer more than makes up for it. Graphics, sounds, gameplay, it has it all. On some parts of the single player I felt like I was watching a movie. On the multiplayer side of it, battles are fast and intense. Infantry, tanks, Bradley's, choppers, you can even call in a UAV artillary strike. I seem to die alot. I can see it's gonna take awhile to master all aspects of it. But that's ok. This is one I'm going to be playing for a while.

Damn, I sound like a commercial.

I Love me some Bad Company 2! I played the hell out of it before my daughter was born and got to level 17, sadly, 1 month after my daughter was born, I am level 19.... Whenever I have a chance, I love to play.

Unfortunately, you will find out quickly that the M60 is OP as hell and that almost everyone snipes. I got over both of those when I got my m60 (medic reward for the medic kit only) and started sniping back on trouble maps. I've gotten quite good with the sniping, even got an additional 282 points as my personal best Marksman shot. I still prefer assault for fun play, medic for mad points and recon for artillery. Engineer just isnt much fun and the RPG's pretty much suck to me.

Someone got my wyldman tag so I am just wyly. If you played Desert Combat we probably played a few games together. Loved that game. This one has about the same potentail if they don't patch the fun out of it. I'm running a 4890 radeon. Amazing card for the money but I think it's already obsolete because I cant find anymore. GTX 285 is a NICE card.

I love the BF series. I play BF:BC 2 on 360 but if the modding community takes off with the PC version, then I will get that too.

BF2 in comparo to MW2 is more strategic instead of run/gun style like MW2. the maps are significantly bigger and the squad based spawning that BF2 utilizes is a plus in my book. When you fully utilize your grunts, vehicle drivers/flyers/snipers/medics you really get the "war" aspect instead of the prototypical run/kill/drop shot/kill methodical approach MW2 takes sometimes. I dig the Rush mode a lot, but I'm 90% of the time full on sniping so I offer little support in that particular mode, but its still fun. Both games have their pros/cons, MW2 looks better/runs smoother, but BF2's gameplay holds its own and is actually better gameplay wise when played right IMO.

If you play with people that are serious about team work then the BF series really shines. If you don't, it's okay.

IMO MW2 sucks compared to it. I haven't played MW2 in a long while.

M60 was recently nerfed (last night).

BC2 is much better than MW2. I stopped playing MW2 before I started even playing the BC2 beta.

Ran BC2 on my 4870X2, and now am running it on my GTX 470. In game name is Slizzo. I'm consistently ranked higher than other people on my friend's list. :)

Oh, and from personal experience, the sound in this game is VERY close to real life. Best sound in a game I've ever experienced. Make sure you put your sound option on "War Tapes".

They just released a new patch for the PC yesterday to balance the game a little more. It is taking some getting used to. But I think they did a good job of balancing the weapons. I do not no if they updated the PS3 or Xbox yet. I personally like it over MF2. Like others have said the multilayer game play is much better and more strategic. If you go lone wolf you will do alright. If you fight as a squad you will whoop that ass. my .02c

The War tapes is sic. I hooked up my computer to my theater sound system and it made me smile. I am glad they brought the m60 down. I hated people killing me with it at 300m standing up. That GTX 470 is a sic card. Does it run hot and have you tried to OC it yet?

Does MW2 have tanks, Bradleys, choppers that you get to drive in multiplayer? Honestly MW2 single player is way better but multiplayer in BF BC2 is on a different level. It's smooth as hell on my i7.

My good old AMD 9750 quad core and SLI 9800GTX setup runs BC2 at 1920x1080 flawlessly. Until something crazy happens, I stick with what works :)

Also, I agree. Being an Avid COD fan, MW2 left me wanting. Its fun, but, the p2p matching system pretty much sucks at best. BC2 is all pwnage all the time.

Overclocked the crap out of it from day 1. Have gone from 608/1215/837 (core/shader/memory) to 775/1550/925 with only .25v increase on the core. Now outperforming my old 4870X2 with less heat, noise and power, and regain PhysX.

Doesn't run hot, idles at 55*c and loads at no more than 71*c on stock cooling. It's a little hotter and more power hungry than the ATI cards, but I get a little more performance as well, and it's much stronger in Tesselation.

But yeah, BC2 is good. Having a hard time getting used to the new patch. Guns are all jacked up. AN94 is now overpowered, M60 is still a sniping machine, making the M95 less effective is counter-logical (it's a freaking .50cal round, how the hell are you going to make it less powerful than smaller rounds?)

BTW, I see no performance hit at 1920x1200 with all settings maxed and 32xMSAA on. In fact I've tried all AA modes, and I have a hard time noticing any performance drops.

While I do like this game a lot. It does have flaws, like any game.

1. Unless you have teamspeak, you can't communicate VOIP for whatever reason. On BF2 and 2142, VOIP was flawless. This makes it hard to plan and coordinate with your squad.

2. BFBC2 is a console port, but a damn good one. Previous BF games were not ports, but exclusive to PC with up to 64 players, larger maps, and aircraft (which was way over powered). This one is max 32 players and a spinoff from the real BF games.

3. Most servers, from what I have observed, do not have admin's watching over them, or rules for that matter. There is constant baseraping and spawn killing on some maps. In previous BF games, that would get you kicked and/or banned depending on if you repeatedly ignore server rules.

4. Carl Gustav - Yes it is a bunker buster and anti-personnel, but too many noobs use it as their primary weapon. Oh yeah, assault class with unlimited grenade launchers since you are also the ammo guy.

5. The sounds are badass. This by far has the best sounds I have heard in a game.

6. The ONLY thing MW2 has on this game is the single player campaign.

With all this said, I still can't get enough of this game. When BF3 comes out, those of you new to the BF series will see what a true BF game experience is like. Rumor has it that it will blow us away.

ALT is the default push to talk key in the game. Only issue is that it works only for people within your own squad.

Yes, Bad Company started out as a console game, 2 came to PC due to large demand by the PC community. Still a good game, especially those looking for a more casual game experience but still want the Battlefield flavor.

3. Most servers, from what I have observed, do not have admin's watching over them, or rules for that matter. There is constant baseraping and spawn killing on some maps. In previous BF games, that would get you kicked and/or banned depending on if you repeatedly ignore server rules.

This is true, and it is an issue. But I've been on many servers that do have an admin presence. It's nice to see the people being identified for aimbotting being kicked and banned.

4. Carl Gustav - Yes it is a bunker buster and anti-personnel, but too many noobs use it as their primary weapon. Oh yeah, assault class with unlimited grenade launchers since you are also the ammo guy.

Wednesday's patch fixed this. Greatly reduced the damage that the Carl Gustav and launcher grenades do.

5. The sounds are badass. This by far has the best sounds I have heard in a game.

Agree wholeheartedly. The sound in this game (when on War Tapes) is incredible. All the sounds you hear while in the game are REAL TIME sounds of you and your friend's duking it out. No ambient sound at all like MW2 uses. This is very useful to me because I can hear where the action is and run towards it.

6. The ONLY thing MW2 has on this game is the single player campaign.

And even then, it's still a shitty campaign. MW2 wasn't even worth the $5 I got it for (know someone who works at Treyarch)

With all this said, I still can't get enough of this game. When BF3 comes out, those of you new to the BF series will see what a true BF game experience is like. Rumor has it that it will blow us away.

All my replies in red above.

BF3 will be great. It's supposed to be built on the Frostbite 1.5-2.0 engine (Bad Company 2 uses the Frostbite 1.5 engine) so you'll still get all the great destructible environments and such, but have the massive maps and large-scale battles of the traditional BF series.

I hope they make the guns more realistic. To be honest the Carl Gustav should do a lot of damage but should weigh you down and take a while to reload and aim. Video game developers need to add the real world negatives to these very powerful weapons. The .50 should have immense recoil and be less mobile etc etc.

I still can't stand how you can't aim down the sights with all the guns in BC. I believe BF2 had it where you can look down all the sights.

How do you mean? Like with the launchers and such? Because all the other hand weapons you aim down the sights.

Are you talking maps like in DC where there were 6-8 tanks duking it out at once? Plus airplanes? I know air dominates on those games but face it; air dominates in rl.

I also heard BF3 was going to consoles as well :( I hope this doesn't affect the game in any way. I forgot about VOIP within the squad. Was it supposed to be intra-squad only chat? Actually the only time I have heard this work was one of my first few days playing and I was squadded up with you and a few of your clan mates.

Nothing like a good tank vs tank battle ocurring at different spots across the map. Man, I miss 1942 terribly.

Yeah, it's in squad only, and even then it's spotty. Sometimes it's working, others not. We basically get xfire hooked up and running a chat room before getting in the game.

One of the reasons BFBC2 was even more of a hit with the PC gamers is because the developers actually tailored the game to the PC version. MW2 did not do this and its sales for PC suffered because of it i think. I no many people that did not buy it because of this.
