2.92 to 3.27 isn't much of a jump so I'd say 3.45.

Ray other than sorting out the shift points so far so good. I ran a 11.82 at 116.9?? launched around 1k to a 1/2-3/4 throttle flash then rolled in to it the rest of the way. 60' was 1.75ish..1-2 shifted mid to upper 6k blah 2-3 shifted pre 6k blah not sure where the 3-4 hit be I wasn't watching the tach any more. I'd say just with the poor shifts there is another .2 and another .1 with a full flash at the line

go the 3.45,s although its only worth a tenth on the strip.the car is a lot more lively out of the corners.id have a look at ls1.com.au the 3.45 diffs come up for sale quite often as complete assemblies for 500 dollars with low miles, they are the standard diff with a manual and those guys usually go 3.7 or 3.9.it would be a cheaper way to go and you have the option of selling your diff or putting it back in the car when you sell it .

ok sounds good. Thanks. So gear with gear changes, people are only seeing a tenth at the track? I was thinking more like 2-3?

did you see a big improvement at the track with the 3.70s?

I was hoping to say we'll find out tomorrow, but with the way the weather looks, I guess we won't find out until next week. :(

ive been told what you gain with 3.45's you losse a bit cause the tranny shift into 4 th ,so the extra gear shift cost you a little on the 1/4

I dropped ET and picked up MPH by letting it shift into 4th with the 2.92s.
I was getting 111-112 @ 12.2 to 12.3. Letting it shift to 4th got me to 113.5 @ 12.teens.
This with shift points set at 6200 and the limiter at 6350 and a stock motor.

Mine has always shifted in to 4th before the traps pre gear swap

I had better results holding third for both ET and MPH. I picked up about half a MPH and lost about a tenth.
Stock gears.
3.27 is a 12% increase...
Last vehicle I did gears in was a 15% increase and the difference was huge...
I am going to probably end up with 327 and a converter...

Mine always shifts before the traps also. I tried holding 3rd once but didnt work. Maybe I was too slow.

I shift into 4th. I tried holding 3rd but ran slower trap speeds and lower ETs.

Using a stock converter, 3.45's, and a 100shot, I cut 1.68-1.70 60fts. With our 4.08 first gear and 2.92's, it is like running a 4.56 gear with a th350 so you really only need a stall. The only other option if your making big power is 3.45-3.70's and a stall then launch it in second.

With a 3200 converter, 2.92s and a stock motor, I can cut 1.71-1.72 60fts with a dodgy diff.
;)
I wouldn't recommend launching in 2nd.
