I have been leaving around 1500 rpms to flash the converter and cutting a 1.75 60'. Lately I have been told to leave around 2000 for better results. What do you guys think would be best for this converter?

Try flashing it from idle too.

That's the answer. One will work best for you and your car.

Ok, this is a better way to explain it. If you have traction problems, then you need to "load" the converter which means stalling it to 2000-2300 at the launch. If you don't have traction problems the leave off idle-1200, this will "hit" the converter harder and the converter will work better. With the 3400 in the G8 I am working with, if the track sucks I need to stall it to 2000-2300 on the launch to keep it from spinning otherwise, leaving from 1000 rpm works best. It seems with nitrous I may need to leave in 2nd to get a good 60ft out of it.

Leave around 2500 or so. With my 3600 in the GTO, I was leaving at about 3000.
Shit, with the stock stall I'm leaving at about 1500.

makes sense. thanks. I typically dont have traction problems at the track so maybe ill continue to leave around 1500 or so

Sorry for the dumb question, but what do you do when you flash the converter? What do you mean by stalling it to 2300??? I thought it was backwards but I never really thought about it till I got this converter..(which apparently flashes at 4100)... I dont understand running it higher if you have traction issues,,, I thought doing it higher would make more traction issues but I am probably way off... I am interested also in this but still dont quite understand it.....

I only have traction problems when I load the converter haha

Flash means to leave(mash the gas) off idle or rpm close to idle... Load means to foot brake the car to a higher RPM (usually well above idle and closer to the stall speed)

I would definitely leave higher than 1500. At least 2500, IMO.
I was leaving at about 3000 with a high 11 second GTO last year and had zero traction problems with my Mickeys.
With a mid 12 second car like yours, you should NOT have problems with traction if you leave higher.

well it was mid 12 sec before the cam and intake. Hopefully 12.0 or better. I am hopefully going to go to the track Sunday as long as it doesnt rain. I am going to try 1500 and 2000 to see which one works better. I also dont fell like breaking anything
