Z-MAX Dragway Test and Tune

Z-Max is having a test and tune day Saturday , April 17 10am -6pm. I'm going and was looking to see if anyone else in the Charlotte area is going. This will my first time running a car down the 1/4 so looking forward to it.

I'm going to try to make it, if school doesn't get in the way. Was planning on doing the test and tune runs here in Greensboro at Piedmont dragway, they have it every thursday night I think from 7-9pm. Only bad thing is, it's a 1/8th mile track. I just want to see how accurate my Dynolicious App is on my iPhone.

When are you heading down, I'll be heading out early to get there at or around 10am when gates open to get inspected and get some runs in before it gets, what I assume, very crowded. Supposed to be a great day with only a 20% of rain in the AM.

Boy what a day! I didn't realize I made 7 passes. It was great seeing both Jerry and Jason at the track and you really couldn't have asked for better weather!

I ran pretty good. My 60' times were not as good as my runs at Piedmont. Jerry's Supercharged GXP was the track star of us all and Jason's G8 GT was not too far behind me.

I have three videos. Two of Jerry and one of Jason. Only one of videos came out halfway decent, it's of Jerry's last pass. Don't really want to post it on youtube and it's too big to attach, so I'm not sure were to upload it to.

I got a few video clips of us, I'll make a movie on Flip video and post it later. Needless to say, the Pontiacs out there were all running strong. Old and new ones, much better surprisingly than just about any of the mustangs or even the new SS camaro! The times keeper said we were the most consistent bunch running mid to low 13's, then Jerry had to blow us all out of the water with his super fast time of 12.2, I left after that, not sure if he bested that time, plus he did it on all season tires!!!!

There you go Jason, spoiling all my fun with these guys. Jerry was the most impressive of the bunch turning out two 12.2 second passes. I managed 4 13.2 seconds passes at 108 mph. I could not duplicate any of my 1.9 60 foot's at Zmax no matter what I did. 2.079 was the best 60 foot I did and my 1/8th mile was around 8.6 seconds which is .2 off what I was running at Piedmont Dragway.

Jason it was great meeting you, and yes I did one last run around 3pm and had the same results. My 60ft on those runs were 1.89 and 1.91. with 12.24 at 115mph and 12.21 at 114mph. Not bad for a rookie first timer.

I agree with you 100% but my wife seems to have an issue with it...lol

I need to change my oil before I drive the hell out of it. Also, my headliner was hanging down because I was changing my third brake light.

Now that I have posted all of my excuses, what were your times and how well did the supercharged G8 run?
