What drive? You are closer than me to the track.:) Seriously, it is worth it. The past two events have been a blast. Lots of great guys and badass cars.

G8's in the Fayetteville area could meet and drive down together.

Made it to the one held in '08, but missed this last one. Hopefully, I will remember and drive up to watch. This time I hope to be in the group that will be leaving the Charleston area.

You should run your car too! Who knows you might just win something!! Last year we gave away an $800 dollar set of stubs for the best reaction time. :) Anyone can win stuff like that.

If only it was that easy. Still trying to teach the son that what Daddy does in the car, stays in the car....No need for anyone else know, ie. Mommy... :-)

Simple solution. Ge the boy a helmet with a dark visor. Let him think he's playing astronaut. What boy doesn't see, boy cannot report lol. On that note, where in Summerville are you? I go down to Brecks once a month or so and visit with a couple of buddies down that way

OV5-G8OrgGT

The boy is about to hit 15, so pretending he is an astronaut has long past....lol I never told my Mom what my Dad might have done, but I never told my Dad what I had done either and I want my son to be able to open up to me, especially since he will be driving here shortly and the G8 is the only thing we have at the moment. The other vehicle is a company car and no one can drive it besides employees.

Just down the road a bit from Brecks, basically. I live on the other side of the Berlin G Parkway which is between me and town. Next time you come down, send me a PM a few days prior, since I don't jump on here everyday, and maybe we can meet somewhere. Last year, I was working up in Charlotte, off of Research Drive and have a friend that has a dyno tune shop near there. TruDynoSports near Conover.

Need to have a drivetrain worthy of some power before racing outside of AAA range.... hopefully have one by then.

I wonder what et it will take to win the g8 class??

Daniel Linnett
10-24-2010, 10:34 AM
Which is what lol. I would think 10.9x would not win it but what do I know lmao. I may slap a small shot of nitrous on the car just for track play time :)

Daniel Linnett
10-24-2010, 10:49 AM
I should be sub 11.2. I would have thought 10.7 would win

Daniel Linnett
10-24-2010, 11:26 AM
Well then that would be the fastest G8.... EVER! I wish you luck, over a second is a lot to drop, not to mention you need a TON of MPH. Not saying you can't do it, it would just be a short time for that big jump.

I was saying I would get 11.2. It is a pipe dream outside of a large shot and I am not trusting the stock a6 or dod

Bump. I'm going down and staying friday night to meet the Goat herd. Anyone else? 8 have signed up but I know of 2 that aren't going to make it. Should be a blast.

I feel your pain. I've been following the ls1gto forum about your car. I can't believe they didn't have a bap when they said they did. Hope everything works out.

Thanks man I appreciate it. I am hoping the walbro 255 is enough fuel pump for 500rwhp. I installed a return line and a aeromotive fuel pressure regulator. Was actually pretty easy. Since I had already cut a hole under the seat it makes it super simple to get the bucket in and out. I put a bulk head fitting in the top and ran a hose to the engine bay for a return. If I go to get a tune and we find out that the walbro can't keep up then I will pull it out and go with the Bosch 44. Hoping I don't have to. I really am praying I can ateast get tuned tomorrow so I can get one track day before they shut down for the season.

Well I wish I could go but my wife has limited me to one car event per weekend. :( This weekend, well, tomorrow, is Holiday Laps at VIR and I've been planning on going since last year. Maybe one day I'll make it to this event. Hope everyone has a great time.

Had a good time. Won "King-of-G8's" for fastest qualifying time. Got a cool trophy for it. Went 11.59 @121.78 on street radials.

Congrats on the win. I wanted to make it out my fuel system
just would not cooperate. I was sure it was going to take a 10sec pass to win the g8 class. I guess I will have to show up next year. I am sure we will have several deep in that range next year.

I won the fastest qualifier wth a 11.70 @ 121.3 even though a supercharger 6-speed GXP ran a 11.66 but it was in time trails. He only ran 11.80's in qualifying.
My best run for the day was 11.59 @ 121.78 and the slowest of my 4 runs was 11.70. I was really impressed with how my 285 BFG street tires held the track.
Not bad for street tires and a stock converter....:first: Could have went 30's or 20's with some sticky tires..

DA was 580 feet.

I''ll be looking forward to next year and going at it. Oh one more thing, they had a scale at the track and with a little more than a 1/4 tank I weighed in at 4275. I think she need a diet plan next year.
