OK. Let's hear from some of you guys who know you are good at the track. How do we improve our 60 ft. times? All things being equal, it seems that is what makes for a good 1/4 mile time & speed. True? I attached my latest 1/4 mile time so you can see what the car is doing and also how I'm doing.

The 60' time is proving challenging for all of us. Yours is not too bad actually.

The big thing is dont get caught up in racing the car in the other lane. Race your race. Preparation is everything. 1/4 tank of fuel, how much air pressure etc. Get a small note pad to right down what you did and you will see what makes what improvements.

Thanks. It seems like I should be able to get below 2.0 but hey that's proving a lot harder than I thought it would.

Thanks Charlie. I'm pretty good about that. I focus entirely on the lights and not the other guy racing me. I'm hoping that's what he's doing (see the kills section). I did have just a bit less than 1/4 tank, but I always run the stock tire air pressure. Maybe gradually getting into the throttle, somewhat quickly, but gradually would help. I'm about out of things I can think of to do that's all.

I can't get below 2.0 yet either.

Whoa! You were one of the ones I thought for sure would be below 2.0. I guess it's hard unless you have what, DR's or a TQ.

Check the 1/4 mile threads, every timeslip should have a 60', I believe you'll find very few below 2.0

2.0 is about the norm for no DRs and stock converter. I had 1 1.90 and 1 1.96 I think it was, but that was ideal track conditions.

Get a DashHawk and practice your 0-60mph runs. You will have a time and graph for each run and be able to compare.

Now that's a good idea! I'm going to do just that. Thanks. I'll call Kirk at VMS.

I know Mike, that's an awesome time! That's with the converter right? I wonder if we could install a different size half shaft (like the Caddy CTS-V or the ZR-1) to eliminate the wheel hop off the line?

Look into some Pedders x-member and differential bushes. Charlie just finished his install. Maybe he can comment on whether there is any benefit relative to wheel hop.

I never had wheel hop, but I can see that it will benefit cars with DRs/Slicks for sure.

I gotta toot my own horn about something! I can't get in the 12's so 60' foot times are what I have going for me. :)

After I do the mild cam swap, ported tb & intake manifold, and underdrive pulley, I'll be happy & consistantly in the 12's on street tires! :)

I wouldn't worry about it at that point, hell, my wife could put it in the 12's! You'll be going for low 12's then I think.

We'll have a real contest then Mike, after I get mine cammed too. Should be fun! It'll be all the 12 sec. guys competing!

I don't think I'm going to get the UDP or the TQ or the ported TB though so you'll still have the advantage.

Charlie; what's a ballpark price to buy & have installed the diff. & X bush's?

If I had to guess, probably $350-400 labor and go to Wretched Motorsports site and look up the parts and talk to Rob.
