View Full Version : Wtf is up with the temp on my car

My ecm is supposed to be tuned for the 160* thermostat. In engineering mode when in traffic the fans will come on at 91*c=195.8*f and go off at
86*c=186.8f. the trans is about 83*c=181.4f.
I put the stock thermostat back in,isn't it supposed to be a 187*f?
So in traffic the coolant runs at 93*c=199.4f,ofcourse the fans never shut off. On a 10 minute interstate run,cruising at 80mph,the coolant stays at
90*c=194*f and the trans runs at 68*c=154*f.
So is the sensor not reading right or what???? Or do I not have the ecm temp/fan setings right???

It's 65 degrees here right now.....

Make sure it is full with no air pocket, turn heater on and make sure heat gets hot. No heat or slow heat is an indication that there is a air pocket/not full. The only other thing could be in the fan tuning.

ya'll live on the forums...like I do???

It does feel faster since I went back with the stock thermo.
Last night I went to the track(1/8mile) for the first time.....terrible....

8.7-8.8 at 84 -85mph with a 2.0 60ft. It was cold out....35-40degrees.
So I put the stock thermo back in today and rode around...it will chirp 2nd more now......


I will check the level once it cools off..

Maybe there alright....I'm used to my srt-4 running 7.7 in the 1/8. Then again I gained 1000lbs with this car. More reasons to put on some more mods..

true there.....but I dynoed at 444fwhp on the skittle. With a set of cams,it would have dynoed 550whp+

The only thing I've missed about the skittle is the rush of the sound and power of the turbo spooling up. Plus it was time for me to grow up and get out of the 4-banger scene.
