After all the Pedders work I drive the car about 30 miles and it is awesome! I come out this morning and the fucking battery is dead! That battery has been a piece of shit since the day I got the car. I believe that is was dead and boosted and thats why I had some weird issues. Now I am putting a new 1 in it just to save a trip to the dealer. BULLSHIT!

My 1998 F-150 which I got in Sept. of '97 cranks better with its original battery! :eyeroll:

Did you ever check for parasitic losses? With all the electronics in these cars, there could easily be something drawing small amounts of power. This constantly killed my Jaguar S-Type....

I have the same issue with only 350 miles on the car. Seems to be hard starting every morning.

Interesting... had roughly the same thing on our s-type and narrowed it down to if i removed the key too fast from the ignition the electrical simply wouldn't shut down (had that several times where I ended up with a dead battery)

No draws. I think this happens in shipping and I am going to change just not to take a chance. Weak batteries can cause all kinds of glitches and drivability issues with cars and I just dont have time to dick with it.

I have to say I agree this battery is junk! I hope it holds up on those 0 deg winter mornings. I'd never thought I'd want a Delco back but it was better than this.

Mine usually sits most of the time, start it up every 2-3 days and let it run for a bit.As soon as I brought it home from the dealer i had the windows tinted and the battery died from leaving the key on just for a bit.I charged it once already and brought it back up just past 70% and now it's back down to 53%.Weak ass piece of shit battery if you ask me,only 23,000km 2009.

Mine cranks all the time, I guess becasue I drive her for 4-5 days every week and sits in the garage after I give her a bubble bath and detail.

I have the original battery with 32,000 miles. The Monday after New Years it was dead after not driving it for 2 days.
I have not an an issue since, but I'm driving it everyday so maybe that's not enough time for it to drain? From what I'm reading here, it sounds like these originals are real lousy. I started to check on replacements and the best price I found was $144.00 at Auto Zone.
You may not believe this, but I traded my 2000 SSEi for the G8 in September, and it had the original battery
in it still goin' strong. It was mounted under the rear seat, maybe that helped? That's 11 years and 105,000 miles!!!

There is a normal power draw on the car all the time. I know on the GTO is was something like 300 mA. with the computers, anti-theft, onstar, etc. there has to be some ammount all the time.
Does anyone happen to know what it is?

Replaced mine with an AutoZone 94r. I would love the weight reduction of the Braille battery, but between the price and the added cost an time to make a new mount, I had to say no. Stock batt is plenty heavy, though.

Mine died while in storage. Bought a new Delco unit For $124+tax from a dealer I use all the time. Everything is great. Next time I am hack.g a trickle charger. Never though about it as I never had an issue last time in storage etc.

Oddly enough, I took my battery to the dealership to have it checked. They said it was fine, but didn't load test it. It's started the G8 every time without a problem. 3 year old battery. 1st 888 FTW

My battery died in storage after 3 weeks. Complete DOA, couldn't jump, had to be towed to dealer. They charged the battery and then tested it for warranty replacement. It passed! Warranty replacement standards must be low. Got the car back and battery showed 84% charge. Returned to storage for 1 week and it dropped to 53%. Drove it today for 20 miles on the highway with the Drls turned off - back up to 58%. I'm not having a lot of confidence in this battery and will probably change it myself. Worth the money to not have to worry about being stuck somewhere.

Just had to replace mine today at 35 months/66,000 miles.
Got stuck yesterday and had to call AAA for a jump.
Got it from Advance Auto Parts for $130 installed.
36 month 100% / 84 month prorated warranty.

Mine is dead at 885 miles. How do I charge it. In the trunk with or without terminals attached or under the hood. My charger has three settings on one side Standard, AGM, Gell and I think it has 2, 8,12 volt on the other. Its the OEM day one battery.

Finally made up my mind and took my car to the dealer and had the battery replaced. Had an Interstate battery installed since it had more CCAs than the Delco model and I was paying for it. Worth the $$$ for my piece of mind as I just didn't trust the old battery.

Bad battery is no reason to sell the G8 and get a Mustang Charlie. Man! When is it going up for sale?

Mine went dead yesterday. Replaced it with an AC Delco Pro from a local chain (XL Parts). Same part number as the original battery, but the CCA went from 650 to 795. Interesting.
