An SRT 8 Challenger pulled up behind me in line so I asked if he would like to run my G8. He said sure. The track guy said sure. So, off we went. Aced him out of the hole something fierce. I posted a 13.3 at 107 mph + and he posted a 13.19 at 110 mph. He said he was pulling me sloooowly but couldn't catch up. Next run was even worse. I talked with him afterwards and he had headers, with what looked like a roto-fab cai, and 6 hrs. of dyno tuning according to him. I looked at his dyno slip which showed 382 rwhp up from about 350 rwhp stock. Man, what a night! I even held my own against a C5 Vette although he won by a few car lengths.

I'd like to see his reaction time if you beat him by more than a tenth.

If I remember correctly, his was .337 and mine was .115. But I knew I got the jump on him and I also expected him to be catching me but he couldn't.

Congrats on your "kill"

I wish I had extra cash to add a few upgrades to my car.

Well, as I'm sure everyone here will agree, the bolt on mods are so worth it. They simply transform the car!

I've done the bolt on's. Hopefully I can get a couple pulls @Livernois next week to see where I am.

Track it, you'll know where you're at.

Congrats! I love it when you holeshot a typically faster car, hold it off to the finish, and the look on their face afterwards! Just another example of a car can only do so much, the driver is what matters!

Thanks, I'm getting a little better at that! My best reaction time ever was, you won't believe it but, .007!

Getting a jump on comparable cars seems to be a theme in almost all the kill threads. The G8 leaves very fast.

It's A G8!

Am I missing something here? If you ran a 13.3 and he ran a 13.19 how is this a kill for you?

When you are ahead of the other car at the finish line of the 1/4 mile you won the race! At least that's the way I understand it.

A slower ET can win a race. If I sit at the line for 1 sec. and the other guys leaves in .02 Sec's. I'm .98 behind to start.

It's A G8!

So you where racing to the line and not acording to your 1/4 run? Ok now I understand.

Yep, we raced two times and I beat him both times. First run it was close (1.5 car lengths), the other time he spun his tires and I walked him pretty good! But he had a slightly better time slip from an earlier run.

Timer does not start until you leave. Add RT to ET to get total time/winner.

Yep, 1st one the cross the line wins. You can beat a funny car, if they had to wait 9.5 seconds before they started.

When I was a kid I won motorcycle class on a Honda 125. In brackets its all about dial in and consistency.

As I've said before, if you are ahead at the end of the quarter mile, YOU WON!!!

In bench racing, we compare 1/4mile slips and times.

In the real world, the guy that drives his car better is the winner.

IOW, the slower car sometimes wins.

In the real world 10>9 so since I wasn't there I have to say that numbers don't lie faster time is faster time.

But, if 10 has bad tires and sucks at changing gears then 9 > 10.

It remains a fact that the faster car can be the second car to cross the finish line.
