Ok i took my coil off to paint them and found on teh clips that snap teh spark plug wire into teh coil was broke. It is starting to currode(spelling?). I am going to replace the spark plug wires. Now i noticed the coil has some corrosion on it as well. The engine wasnt missing and wondering if i need to replace it as well? Or if i can just clean it up and it be ok. Talked to dealer they cant get one till monday and price is $80 employe pricing cs of wife. If i shoudl replace is there better ones out there to just replace all them?

Any advise will be very helpful. Thanks

W/out pis it sounds like you might need new wires. Get some dielectric grease and use it with the new(or old wires) to help protect them

I dont have a camaro...So where that came from not sure. Anyway here are the pics.

next question what is the diff between the 08 and 09 model spark plug wires. They have diff part numbers. The 09 G8 Gt/GXP/Camaro SS are all the same. The 08 shows a diff plug number. Reason i ask is can get a set for 08 now but 09 have to wait till monday. Called Wretched and they cant get me a set till later either.

Yep, water got in there. You can clean out the corrosion. You put this thread in the Camaro forum. I didn't move it here.

Just get a tube of dielectric grease. The JBA wires come with a small tube.

It wouldn't hurt to change the coil. It is probably OK, but just keep it as a spare or tester coil for the future.

Did you go and get Krylon Fusion to paint the coils? I have 2 cans of Fusion in Red Pepper to do mine.

I got Dupli-Color engine enamel with ceramic 500degree. Got all back together to see if it is good as it said an no issues with heat. Paint stuck like glue. They didnt have the SMR to match my outside so i went gloss black. Still cleans it up nice. Going to reorder jett radiator hoses also so i can get black ones instead the red ones.

As mention before it isnt missing but needs replaced. I didnt feel right running it around with that coil the way it looked. And the spark plug clip broke. Installed all just to check if coils was going to be good painted.
