What's the technique to use the Roto-Fab CAI intake pipe with the Maggie? :uhm: I have a TVS1900 on a GT.
When I installed it, it looked like a tight fit between the top pulley and the hood.

This is how I did Mine.

That is how I have mine now. But I would prefer to use he Roto Fab pipe (as long as it doesn't rub). The Maggie intake tube sits too close to the radiator hose. And the Roto Fab pipe looks like it would flow a little better.

LVNate, I found a pic of your car. Does the RF pipe rub on the hood liner?

No, because I had to remove the liner. It barely still touches the hood with some "modification". You can see the mark on pipe in this pic where it hits.

I got my Rotofab tube to fit, but I slightly rotated the air box by elongating the mounting holes. It looks like Nates.

Hey Norm,

You can steal those covers from a Camaro SS and start cutting away! I cut it, notched it out to fit and had them painted. I had to grind off Chevrolet from both sides too. It was alot of work. This company asked to use my photo for their website. Of course I said Yes!

Done. Ditching the liner left plenty of room.

Unfortunately, the hood isn't completely painted under the liner. It looks white in the pic, but is actually silver.

Is this kit new? I've had the hood touch problem as well...looks like a different intake tube...

I replaced mine because the Magnacharger one has the flat spot and also has a sharp 90deg irregular shaped turn. The Roto-fab is less restrictive for sure.

Ace, your link doesn't work.

Norm, I also didn't like that the Maggie intake tube was an inch away from the hot Radiator tube. Maybe it's no big deal, but I'll check my IATs on the way home today.

But if you also notice, the ribbed section is up by the TB on the cars that don't rub...

Mine's like Nates, but I didn't have to remove the hood liner with the 1900.

It has the ribbed thingy near the TB. It doesn't look like
it rubs. Just trying to help.

Thats a pic of my car I think. Yes placing the ribbed part next to the TB made the system fit fine. However the pulley under the ribbed thingymawhachamadoozle rubbed a hole in it and that made me sad. Sooo I had to use the Maggy intake tube with the rotofab box. I took the bottom bolt out of the rotofab box to give it a little play so it could fit into the Maggy tube a bit better. Yeah it is close to the radiator hose but im spraying a bunch of meth down its throat so im not all that worried. Had to order a new hood liner to get rid of that spot the old rotofab tube rubbed into it, but it was pretty cheap.

Thanks for the info, FLUBYU. I'll continue to monitor the tube but there is no rubbing so far. I tightened everything up with about an inch between the pulley. I then tested the clearance by putting a thin piece of clay between the pulley and tube & several thin 2 inch tall pieces at different points along the top of the tube to test the clearance between the tube and the hood. The clay was not bent at any point so removing the hood liner left plenty of room.

Update: I have slight rubbing on the hood. I have adjusted it down to where I only have a half inch between the top pulley and intake tube. I thought I had plenty of room, but the tube bends at one spot where the hood is lowered for the nostrils.

Update: No rubbing after removing the liner and with about 1/2 inch between the pulley and intake tube.

Also, Roto-Fab sent me a straight plastic NPT-Barb connector to replace the 90 degree connector.

Thats odd, mine is fully painted.

Just another quick update, the accordian connector is barely rubbing on the bottom right corner of the large circle, so my idea is not perfect. I could enlarge the circle, but it's not enough rubbing for me to risk trying it with a dremel.

A little PBM rattle can fixed the unpainted hood. I didn't clearcoat it, but you can't tell since it's fairly dark under the hood.
