I bought Christiancoach's (Tony's) old set of wheels, and I received them today. He shipped them out on the same day that I sent my payment, and it took exactly one week for UPS to ship them from Washington to North Carolina.
The wheels were packaged beautifully, and even the UPS driver commented on how well they were packaged. He said he sees a lot of wheels get damaged in transit due to improper packaging.
I just installed the wheels on my car, and had to do a little painting on the rotors because these new wheels show a lot more of the ugly parts of the rotors than the stock wheels do.
The wheels are Avarus AV5 staggered 20's, with 255's in front, and 285's out back. The cars been lifted all day, so I'm waiting for the suspension to settle back down before I'll be able to see how much I need to lower the car. Right now there's a huge gap between the tire and fender, so hopefully it doesn't stay like that!
I've never been a fan of chrome wheels, but I saw a red G8 a few weeks ago lowered with chrome wheels, and the car looked great. It made me consider chrome wheels for once in my life. I figured I'd try them out, and if I didn't like them I'd just put them back up for sale. My wife came home from work tonight, and she said "they sure are shiny." I don't know if that was good or bad? :uhm:
I've been looking for a staggered set of wheels for months, so it's nice to finally get those skinny stock tires off my car. I've ordered 2 sets from Tire Rack in the past few months. The first order couldn't be fulfilled, because they stopped making the rear wheels. The second order was cancelled by me at the last minute because I was afraid I wouldn't be able to make the work without rubbing. :loser: (Those are the Breyton's that GeoffA had milled and just installed on his car).
I'll post some pics tomorrow when I get home from work. For now I just wanted to say, thanks Tony!
